tapping?

on weds nights I always crank my car and let it run, Ive been noticing a light knock at idle once the engine is completly warm. if u increase engine speed to 1500 it disapears and the car is running great just wondered if its normal or what? car has 5600 miles.its not the injectors its slightly louder than that. thx guys!

That sounds like bad cam phasers, get a mechanics stethoscope and see if you can pin point the noise.

I work at a dealership, and my car did that right as I bought it. It did it only did it everynow and then. I had a tech glance over it and he said it's either the POV put on a bad oil filter and particles from it got pumped up to the cam phasers as well as block some of the oil from going to the vct's causing them to make a tapping noise. I just change the oil today, and primed the system and fired it up. No noise at all so far. Going to try it again in a bit when its cold.

What year is the car? Ford has redesigned the phasers several times over the last 4 years. If your car is under warranty they should replace them.

2006, its under warranty bc they havent seen it n a while. intake tune and longtubes r prolly gonna void the warranty as soon as they look at it....lol

They can't void your warranty for that. You can take legal action if they try.
