Was the 9psi on 93 octane?

What kinda torque?

Yes, 540 but I didn't do much tuning down low. Pretty sure I can make some improvements there. That's why I didn't post it. I think the HP numbers are pretty solid and won't go up too much with more tuning.

The fact that this is Jon's car makes it that much more awesome. I've never actually met him but he sure has been good to me via emails and over the phone.

Thanks guys. Most people don't know but Jon and I go way back and he's one of my best friends.

Spent some time on the dyno last night but really didn't make much progress. The torque converter is slipping some so it's hard to gauge small gains. So we decided just to take it to the track tonight on street tires for a couple of shakedown runs.

Sorry for those asking for video, but our dyno is outside and we do this at night so the lighting sucked and I was more concerned with tuning the car. But I'll get some video soon. I'm sure someone will get some at the track tonight.

Im excites for this lol

Me too, but something I want everyone to keep in mind.

Most people doing projects like this would do the whole thing, track etc before you even knew about it so they can throw up a big number and impress right off the bat. And they leave all the details out.

We are giving you an inside look here and you will see it as it happens. Which really benefits you guys and gives you a realistic insight on how these things get developed. Did we create the perfect kit right off the bat? That remains to be seen but I doubt it. I'm sure there will be minor changes. We already have one. MAF placement isn't working out and we have to rework that. But I pretty much knew that but wanted to try it there anyway.

So don't expect us to light the world on fire the first night out. Not sure how it will work out on a stock converter and street tires. But I'll report the results either way.

BUT, I will pretty much guarantee when this project is done, Jon, Jake and I will have created one of the baddest 5.0s ever built. You can quote me on that.

Hey ken are you keeping the MasterPower turbos or will you be upgrading to maybe CEA billet wheels or maybe even ball bearing turbos?

I don't really see a need for the extra cost right now. The car is spooling well and making good power.

It might be something we try once the engine is built. But my opinion on expensive turbos is that most people don't need them. The benefits do not justify the costs in most cases.

OK Ken your quoted, lol.

Also I think I should clarify. When I say one of the baddest, I mean one of the baddest. My definition of that is an all around performer. Not just the quickest in the 1/4 etc.

Any predictions for the track? Have you had it on the street yet? If so, how does it behave?

My prediction is it will make it to the track tonight. LOL

And zero driving yet. I'm headed over to pick it up at lunch to do some street tuning on it. Then I'm going to drive it about 45 minutes to the track so I can log it.

Like I said, MAF placement isn't the best. It's pretty turbulent at that spot. That is why Vortech puts that air straighter in the tube before it, and Procharger puts it in the intercooler. So it has a little surge at idle right now but overall I expect it to drive like stock, even with the bad MAF placement.

We are considering different options. We may place ours in the intercooler also but are going to consider everything.

Went to pick up the car. This is the car I've always wanted! It's quiet, drives like stock (except some idle issues) but when you put the hammer down, watch out! I can't imagine what it's going to be like with a converter.
