Any reason you picked this over a 5.0? I know you had previously mentioned you were trying to get one.

I think you made the right choice!

I think so too!

I've always wanted a gt500. Even if I got a 5.0, it's still a GT at the end of the day and I think that is what bothered me most about the vert.

Car is really coming along nicely. Looking forward to the engine work with video.:beerdrink:

Thanks man! Should have some more updates this weekend!

A little fun over the weekend:

Wheel hop is absolutely insane with stock suspension! Will change that this weekend :)

First round of goodies have been ordered:
-Koni Yellow Adjustable shocks/struts thanks to Cam!
-CHE LCA Relocation brackets thanks to Racingtheburg!
-BMR Adjustable panhard bar and bracket from AM

Also have BMR Springs and BMR Billet LCA's to swap over!
Hopefully I can finish up the vert so I can spoil the Cobra!

Mine did also, all I did was put in the UCA from BMR and it was like a light switch, that was the best mod I have ever done and only for $150.

I'm a little late to this thread but DAMN I am jealous. I've always wanted a black with grey stripe or stripe delete GT500! I say you wait to see what those SVTPP wheels look like before you swap springs. My buddy had the BMR's on his GT500 and the stance was just sexy

He also had the side skirts painted body color and the rear bumper painted the GT/CS style with a hydrocarbon'd front splitter and hood vents.

Going to order one this weekend! Thanks!

That looks amazing! I could always swap side skirts with the vert if I wanted to, I think they are the same. Those are some great ideas! That is definitely something I would be interested in doing! Thanks man!

Well guys, the Forgestar CF5's are gone, so they will not be going on this car! Also, I sold the Whipple from the 06 as well, so now I am ready to order something nice for the GT500 :evillaugh:

Glad I could give you some ideas! The side skirts are the same so they'll bolt right up. So now that the wheels are gone you gonna buy the 2.9?

Got the new chin spoiler and some new brakes installed yesterday. My stock brakes looked like they have never been changed and were near metal on metal.

The convertible is running now, I just need to finish it up by snatching off the gauges and possibly the side skirts.

I decided against the Whipple, just because it is simply more than I will need. I didn't really see a point in spending that much, especially since I don't go to the track that often.

So, I just placed the order for the VMP TVS blower kit, JLT 123mm intake, Afco Dual Fan heat exchanger and a lethal offroad X pipe. Once those are done, I am done with engine mods. I'll move along to wheels and more suspension parts.
