Took the mustang to work today after not driving it for a month and it threw a wrench light and stalled in third gear while crusing with no throttle. I was able to turn the ignition off and restart the car but could not pull any codes. I am thinking it may have been a random misfire possibly due to old gas. This has happened to me before but not very often. Does anyone have any ideas on what may cause this?

were you coasting at the time?

a misfire generally would not cause a stall

Yes I was coasting. That is what I don't understand, there was no load on the car. It could have happened before I started coasting but even at that, I was under very light throttle as I was going down hill.

sounds like the dashpot setting in the tune

I had a similar issue, I would put the car in neutral and coast and the motor would stall.

well when the motor stalls, the entire dash lights up.... but nothing stayed on after the motor re-fired

Any updates on the problem?

I have the same mods and experienced the same thing after a year of being supercharged, trouble free. Replaced the TPS and thought I had it but it happened again. Ended up cleaning the MAF and replacing the throttle body. So far, it hasn't happened again.

It happened again today. This time in fourth gear maintaining speed. Wrench light came on, car went into limp mode and then stalled out when i put it in neutral. Does this sound like a tune issue or mechanical?

I had a very similar problem. I have a Saleen S-VI and a JDM tune on a SCTX2. I would just barely press the throttle (pedal or cruise control) and I would lose everything and get a wrench light. I ordered a new tune with a SCTX3 and haven't had the problem since.

Who tuned it when you resolved the issue? Do you know what they changed? I emailed lund, so hopefully he has an idea on how to resolve it.

Clean throttle body very well, then consider the tune. When I say clean the throttle body, I mean take it off, and really get every bit of oil residue out! Have to do it basically with it off the car to make sure you get everywhere. I had the same problem.

What did you clean it with? I have breathers so there really shouldn't be any oil in it

Throttle body cleaner. Same thing happened to me when I switched out my battery.

I am glad I am not the only one with this issue. I will try cleaning the throttle body today and report back.
