Thats one reason I can't wait to get back to South Florida to deal with the shops down there. My best friend works at the fab shop I goto (they do pretty much everything) and Blow By is 45 minutes away and Steve and Chris have bent over backwards to take care of me!

Rasmus: Taylor definetly dropped it on me. And then tried to make it look like I was wrong. I KNOW 100% for sure that he said Thursday. I even told him "let me write it down" and made him hold, and then read back what I was writing (said it aloud) so I KNOW my date/time was right.

Shit happens, but it always sucks when it does. Best thing to do is just get it over and done with, but it sounds like Lito is getting everything worked out! You'll be able to lay down some black tracks in no time.

Random incoherent and unfortunate mumbling. (Edited by request.)

Are you saying Caleb's tune burned down a barn?

Damn I'm glad I saw this thread! Hate you had to go through the BS Lupo.
I bought some 4.10s from Brenspeed and a coworker was trying to get me to go to Fastlane. He told me to call and ask for Taylor. He happened to be at lunch when I called so i left a message for him to call me back. Well around 4pm that day I said fuck it and started looking online for a shop that would install them and found East Coast Gear Specialist. They quoted me $400. With a 5yr labor warranty.
Finally called Taylor the next day and he qouted $350. I went with my gut and chose ECG. My co-worker was getting 4.10s for his 98 Cobra put in at Fastlane. Mine was done in three hours and they told me that they put in break-in oil and for me to take it easy for the first 500 miles then come back and they would put the regular oil in and check to make sure everything looked good. The explanation for the break-in time was so the gear would harden. Made sense to me.
Fastlane told my buddy no need for a break-in. Just be easy for the first 100 miles.

After he told me that, I was happy that I didn't chose them.

But, I was going to let them tune my car after I installed the LTs and UDPs. Not now!!

Good luck with your surgery bro!

Hey RedEyes, this East Coast, did they have a small, crammed parking lot with a lot of DSM (mitsubishi's) and imports?? East Coast Specialist is my premiere shop around here in Jacksonville. They've ALWAYS treated me right, quick quick quick turn around and great prices!! If you're ever in need of something done, goto them!! I got my cams done by them...$400 and same day return. I threw a code and they fixed it the next day. Majestic quoted me $1200 for the same job! (rip off shop if you ask me!)

Are you in WOT???

And Taylor isn't the real bad one...its the woman that answers occasionally. She always acts like shes better than me and has this attitude in her voice. And when she said "I Promise you you will have the start up tune in your email by 5:30" and it wasn't there, I got PISSED. I'm done with them. I would avoid them too.

And we're just datalogging. Haven't even gone on the dyno yet. How does that make you feel Fastlane, knowing a guy in ANOTHER COUNTRY is kicking your asses all over the place......through nothing but EMAIL.
LOL!!!

Omg, its amazing!! And we haven't even put her on the dyno yet.
.

I was saying the same thing! Lito is just freggin awesome! Glad you are getting it squared away!

Definetly! Tomorrow I'm going down to the shop to strap her in and see what he can really do! I'm gonna sleep like a 5 year old the night before he goes to Disney LOL

Heehee.. I know the feelin! I am looking into a local dyno to rent as well. Would really like to tune with him in person, think that would rock!

Honestly, "break-in" on a rear end.. good to drive it easy for the first few hundred miles, let the gears / LSD clutches all slip together for a while.. but I've built rears for cars that go to the strip and nothing else, and guys who drive their cars less than 100 mi.. the gears are hardened during manufacturing, no kind of driving will ever change how a gear was manufactured - bearings maybe, the ring/pinion? no way

Damn, man, I'm not sure if we're thinking of the same lady here. The one I'm thinking of has always gone out of her way to help me. Even the first couple of times I called for a simple 93 octane tune for a CAI. Heck, I'm not even sure we're talking about the same shop! It really is the only place that I will trust with my car, and they treat me the same now as they did the first time I stopped by.

I don't really have any experience with Majestic, though. I talked a bit with them at FMP one time when they had their manual Supra in the 5/6-speed shootout at Dragging Rights. I got to put a Go-Pro on it. That thing moves out! It blew the doors off of a procharged C6Z.

I would love to be a member of WOT. I live in Wilson which is about 1 1/2 hours away from J-action-ville.
The ECG I went to is in Raliegh.

I don't know Jack Schmidt about tunes, since my car is stock. However, hope I'm not hijacking too much when this old guy in Oregon wishes to thank Lupo for his service!

Sounds like Lito is taking care if you, good to know since I'll need a remote tune soon. Goodluck! It's amazing he can do that from another country just through email.

We had a blurp but she's on the dyno and running awesome! Numbers aren't as impressive. That's my fault. I'll explain when I get home. Probably in a new thread...idk

Ok, I just received a phone call in reguards to this thread. I'm an admin on WOT as well as a Fastlane customer. I have dealt with many shops in the past and Fastlane was among the top rated in my opinion. I understand issues happen and Lupo I understand your concerns. As for myself, no issues with FL. They even sent me a retune for some mods I was planning via email which I never completed so they never charged me.
Now I'm also a volunteer fire fighter and said car and garage that burnt down were in my district. I can say with certainty that the fire was NOT the result of anything Fastlane Motorsports did. HEll the guy who's car burnt bought Taylors silver Saleen afterwards. If he had the slightest thought that the fire was caused by Fastlane, he wouldn't have bought another car built by them. WOT is in good standings with Fastlane Motorsports and I'd like to keep it that way. I do ask that my members please reframe from bashing our sponsor shops on open forums if they associate themselves with our name. Say what you want, but keep it truthful and leave unnecessary names out of it; particularly ours. Fastlane does know about this thread and contacted one of our members this afternoon thinking that WOT has a beef with them, thus hurting our club/sponsor relationship. Also ask that my members please visit the members only section of WOT this afternoon.

Not saying that at all. More than likely an unfortunate coincidence. I didn't make my post with the intention of smearing the name of a local shop that I have never had experience with. I have amended my original statement as to keep the peace between my local club and our sponsor Fastlane. I personally have never had a tuning experience with them and have only attended several events at their business.

The county fire marshal did conclude it was the car, now do you know what in the car it was? Cause I do. I'm gonna throw his business out there, but it had nothing to do with the tune. Who said you reported to me? I didn't. I did say WOT will not tolerate members bashing or bad mouthing our forum sponsors. See updated rules in WOTs members only section. If you have a problem with that then leave.

Hmm, I find it sad that you have to go to this forum to contact your WOT members. Not being a member of the club I could care less if Fast Lane gets bashed. Sounds like they suck but I have never dealt with them. I would think about it after this though. BBR has some great people working for them with a problem in the front office that is bringing them down. Sounds like FL may have the same problem.
