Are there any issues with running the engine mounts that lower the engine 1/2-3/4"?

Ill be doing some HPDEs with the car and I'm curious if they put the engine at an odd angle and cause any oil issues or ground clearance issues?

I have mine dropped 1/2" with no trouble. Moreover, when I track my car the tires I use are a smidge over 25" in diameter, which is a lot shorter than my street tires. The net effect is that my rocker clearance is about 4-1/4" to the ground (lower than most S197s I've seen). I've never had any ground clearance trouble.

Only if you have one of the double universal joint driveshafts. The stock driveshaft and the good aftermarket CV driveshafts don't care about the pinion angle. Lowering actually makes it easier to align the pinion angle. Lowering doesn't hurt anything but you still have to make sure that it clears for you. Mine is lowered 3/4" no problem but others have headers and other mods that might make it close. For example extra drive pulleys attached to the front of the harmonic balancer can get really close to the front sway bar.

I'm with these guys. So far I've only autocrossed and daily driven mine with the engine lowered 1/2", but I've not had any trouble whatsoever.

Mine is lowered about an inch to fit the KenneBell S/C under the hood. It has been that way since the spring of 10' with lots of track miles since then and no issues.

That's also a concern. Unless you also lowered the transmission, you would increase the angle at the transmission output.

Unless you have a 1 piece driveshaft with u-joints at BOTH ends of the d/s, it does not matter.

I have the the 1 piece aluminum d/s that comes with the Super Snake package. For the record, I have had to replace a differential bearing. I use the car almost exclusively on the race track. It could be the hp/tq(700/651 rw) that is being pushed through it. My mechanic thinks that the power and type of use are probably the issue. I/he never considered any angles due to the engine being lowered. We will go back and take a look at that.

Ford uses Dynatech DS I believe. Even if its not dynatech it's definitely a u joint on both ends unless its a 2013 which they went with a carbon fiber shaft that might have cv joints. I still wonder about who makes the 2013 gt500 shaft.
