Right, I need some fresh eyes on this because I'm going crazy.

Car is a 2006 Mustang GT 4.6

Started off with limp mode and throttle faults:
P2104 (forced idle)
P2111 (stuck open)
Plus TPS related codes

While digging into it I found rats have been in the engine bay. The CHT wiring was chewed through and open circuit.

I've since:
1. replaced the CHT sensor and connector
2. CHT now reads correctly and that code is gone

I've also tried both:

1. aftermarket throttle body
2. original OEM throttle body

Same issue on both.

Throttle checks:
  • 2 pin TAC motor reads about 4 ohms, so seems fine
  • I powered it directly from the battery and the throttle plate moves both ways, so motor is working
  • pedal sensors (APP) both respond correctly in live data in forscan

Current behaviour:
  • car starts but now idles rough (was smoother before I swapped TAC wires around to test)(i had to install a new connector on the TAC due to plastic brittle damage)
  • throttle doesn't respond properly from the pedal
  • PCM still goes into failsafe

Current codes:
P2104
P2101
P2111
P1110
P0121 / P0122 / P0221 / P0223

Key thing I'm seeing:
Throttle position sensors (TP1 / TP2) are not behaving properly with pedal input. Pedal moves, motor works, but feedback doesn't match so PCM shuts it down.

Given I've already found rodent damage, I'm thinking there's more wiring damage in the loom somewhere (likely in the same area behind the intake where I found the CHT issue).

Anything else i can check or ive missed here? ive been at this for many hours now.

I can grab any live data or voltage readings if needed, just trying to avoid stripping the entire loom unless I have to. Tell me what you need and ill send a vid, pictures, descriptions or exactly what ive done.

Worst part is i replaced the CHT and the car ran perfectly. then the next day i went to sort the TAC connector out and the rats must of come THAT night and chewed some other crap causing the limp mode. Ive put some traps around the car.

Just for information.

The new connector i bought for the TAC (2 pins right side of throttle body) wasn't working/seating correctly. i added some crimps to the original that was damaged and it worked.

However upon driving it for a hour, the radio and windows died. and now im chasing a SJB problem which is also triggering the PCM problem again as the faults came back.
