Hey all first post here... Need some guidance on a throttle body problem and the car in limp mode
2005 4.0 everything is stock .
car just went into limp mode one day. When checking the codes there are a least 20 of them mostly relating to the throttle body. po121 po0221 02223 1200 1204 2107 -- and a whole bunch more. With here friends they bought an oem throttle body and installed it . Car is still ldeling rough and in limp mode.
I had the car towed to my house and now am working on it.
Battery is new
I will b clearing all the codes and doing the engine relearn today
The throttle body motor does not have a ground and the voltage is 3.7 volts.
I would like to trouble shoot this and figure out what is amuck and not throw parts at it but i need a littlle guidence ... Does anybody know where to start ? I am figuring i have to ohm out the ground wire but do not know where the wire would b on the pcm.
Please advise ....

Welcome to the club from Missouri. Start at the beginning of the air flow and work your way through to the air exit point. Check to make sure air is not stopped by dirty or clogged, filters or sensors, all the way down to the exhaust pipe exit. It looks like you already replaced the TB. Good luck.

You'll need to record all of the codes. Since you have a bunch I'd start with chasing down what each one means; see DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) in the Powertrain Control & Emissions section to troubleshoot. Here's an online manual that may help you narrow down the issues.

Iihs.net has workshop manuals and wire diagrams for the car. I'd start by cleaning the TB and putting in a new air filter then drive to see what codes come back. Maybe put back the original TB. I know when I swapped the engine in my 06 with a 09, it didn't like the 09 TB. Also do the TB relearn if you are keeping the new one.

Never underestimate and power of prayer (along with the extra work of course). God helps those who help themselves....
