So, Terry, are you aware of the possibility of the stock racks being reprogrammed with the same FRPP-M3200-EPA program?
I have a guy (customer) working on a very cheap solution, but it would be more along the lines of "rigging".
Any news on this?
Would love to do poly bushings but too worried about this EPAS problem. Don't have 1k to drop on new rack.
Did swapping to larger-width wheels and tires cause an issue? I want to run wider tires, but I'm terrified of making my car undrivable. And that shudder of death equals undrivable in my book.
Dang, one year later and this thread is still going strong. I figured they'd have an update by now.

They do. It's called the Ford Racing electric steering rack, it's "off-road only," and it costs $999.

Yeah, kinda like Ford's fix to the MT82 is that they sell the T-56 Magnum XL in the FRPP parts catalog? Some days I wonder if I would have been better off just building my 4.6 3V or doing an engine swap than dealing with all the cut-corners of the 11+ S197s.

I wouldn't say corners were cut. The '11+ chassis has a lot of improvements over the earlier ones.
I honestly don't care that the transmission was built in China - they just should have kept the QC in check and NOT used the inadequate shift linkage for this application. I also wish I could just flash the EPAS rack with the proper firmware. I'm surprised nobody has "engineered" a workaround for this yet given the cost of the replacement rack.Though I do wish the manual transmissions were built in a first-world country and that Ford would allow me to install the racing EPAS unit's code onto my stock rack, since firmware is the ONLY DIFFERENCE between the two.
Bit the bullet and ordered Boss 302R M3200 EPAS for early July install. Tired of the EPAS shudder
