Ok help me choose. I'm grabbing a second set of wheels sometime in the next few days. Originally I wanted 18x10's but that's not going to happen. Soooo I'm going to grab a set of 2010 18x9.5 gt500 wheels. My big thing is I want to powdercoat the current gt500 wheels a crazy color. I'm thinking of Takata green or Electric blue? What do you think? Any suggestions? Or just stick with powdercoating the center's black?

Car as it sits now...

I've fooled around with it a little bit and it really is a crazy color. Over a polished surface it friggen looks like wet antifreeze. Another cool effect it putting a matt or flat clear over the top of it.

Here's a pic of it on a shifter I made for my MGW when my car was still a stick. Solid polished aluminum and I made it on my friend's lathe.

Another pic with different lighting where it looks more green.

my buddy has his wheels green like that shifter he did it with paint though. You can get that effect by laying down a bright gold base then laying down a bright flourescent green or yellow over it. The gold gives it the wet look somewhat and the green is there for the pop. Think the color of the wheels on the RTR x

I'm thinking about powdercoating my GT500 wheels as well. Probably a more conventional color than you're thinking though. I'm thinking gunmetal. I don't see a lot of wheels with a machine type finish like these (or 03 cobra wheels) powdercoated. Not sure how it would look.
