I sure would appreciate feedback on all sides. The more info I get the better off I will be. I'm a general diesel kind of guy (ambulances specifically) and not real knowledgeable when it comes to high performance gas. For those in "the know" what max rwhp can I expect and at what max boost level that 93 octane can safely afford? I'm just not real familiar with the limits.

As much as I like PD blowers, the Paxton is a great route to go.
I was dead set on getting a TVS but have been building my supporting mods leaning toward a Paxton or Procharger with cogs.

I'm pretty happy with my Vortech, but I'd like some more torque so I'm adding a shot of nitrous on top of it.

Does yours have the liquid or air to air intercooler? Man.....nitrous on top of that. I'm as stoked about seeing your numbers as you are lol. Definitely got to video the dyno session. You know the power is sick when the car lifts up high at WOT. Mine didn't do that....yet :violin: lol!

I have the air to air intercooler. My numbers won't be super impressive right not as the only modification I did was dropping a couple of pulley sizes. The lower compression of the new shortblock is going to eat that up already, so I'm expecting to be around the same HP wise. The new block just gives me a larger tuning window and the base to continue to build. I'll probably get an OD crank pulley to spin the shit out of this Vortech. I'm going to have to look at new injectors soon too I'm sure. I upgraded the fuel system, but still run a 39# injector. Gonna get it all put together and then see what my needs are and go from there. I'll get the nitrous kit on sometime this summer.

Now THAT is sick! You and I will have to stay in touch on that. Just seems the more research I do the more of an effort I find it is to get a PD blower for the power I want to make that isn't going to build heat, heat soak or run out of steam. The B326 with my 4.10s is full of torque even before boost kicks in. And those 4.10's will keep my rpms up in the perfect range where I shouldn't notice much difference between a PD and centrifugal. Honestly I'm trying to stick with something that Brent is a dealer for and has a lot of experience with etc. So that leaves me with either a TVS or a Paxton. I just got this gut feeling if I get the TVS I will regret it. The max power Brenspeed is getting with the TVS on the B326 is 650 rwhp. That is with the smallest snout pulley available because of the tolerances of the blower snout and also using a 12% overdrive crank pulley. So basically I would spend 6500 and hit another HP limit wall when the engine is capable of so much more.

So what fuel pumps and injectors are you running?

If you want a pd I'd go with a dob manifold and 2.9 Whipple. The whipple can feed your 326 and keep iats down.

A Paxton is the most economical blower. A 1200SL or 2200SL both have the same 1150cfm blower (same as a V3 Vortech). It's limited to 52,000 rpm so keep that in mind. You will have to upgrade to a better blower to have more potential. The YSI series will give you plenty of room to grow.

A Procharger D1 has a 62,000 rpm limit, billet wheel, and moves 1400 cfm. It has about the same potential as the 2000 series Paxton with a higher rpm limit (Edit: I had originally grouped the YSI in with the 2000 series but they are not the same. The YSI is a 1600 cfm blower with a 65,000 rpm limit) but comes with it's own 8 rib drive belt and tensioner. The kit is also already configured as a blow through too. There are several D1 kits in the classifieds for good prices.

A big advantage to a centri with a higher rpm rating is obviously the ability for more boost but also for more boost faster. The D1 has a 4.1 drive ratio vs 3.6 for a 1200 series Paxton. The steeper the drive ratio the faster boost builds. It's possible to configure a centri so that power comes on almost as fast as a pd but with a little more linearity. You can also install a wastegate to control boost while maintaining the fast boost buildup.

19cobra93 had a rotrex for sale, not sure if he still does. It's a nice centri with a 5.7 drive ratio which really builds the boost fast.

You have the right idea, figure out what you really want and only spend the money once. Buy good parts and do it right. You are limiting yourself by only considering something Brenspeed sells or will tune.

The Paxton 2200 has a 60000 rpm limit and I believe flows 1400 cfm its compatible to a vortech jt trim

Doesn't the YSi fall inbetween the d1 procharger, and the f series prochargers? I thought the YSi was bigger than the Novi 2k. The YSi should be good for well in excess of 700rw, but I'm not too in touch with mod motors and boost, but I know a lot of guys were switching from the YS to the YSi on their pushrod motors, and laying down 800+ rw with it.

I'm going off of Paxtons own specifications. I researched the hell out of them before I bought one. The 1200, 2200, and V3 all come with the same blower. If the 2200 came with a 2000 series supercharger it would also have a different air intake. The manual lists the same air intake setup part number. The 2000 series intake is 3.75" while the 1200 is 3.5". Same as a V3.

When I bought mine the Paxton was listed at 1150 cfm and the V3 at 1100. Now they are both listed at the same cfm.

I'm only trying to provide the op with the data to make an informed decision by passing along what I learned prior to my Paxton purchase. It would really suck to overspin the blower and have the cast wheel blow up.

I completely understand but Iv always been told that the 2200 was Paxton version of a jt trim.

Here is a pic of my blower it says 2200 on it does this mean its from a 2200 kit and not a 2200 unit

Also my inlet is 4 inches I had photos comparing it to my t trims 3.75 but iv lost them.

It has a 4 inch inlet and 3 inch outlet

I'm reading a few of the Paxton articles and the 5.0 kit specs and it sure does sound like a different blower. I think I might be wrong about there not being a 2200 compressor.

I still stand by the 05-10 4.6 kits having the same blower.

Edit: The JT and YSI have the same blower housing which is a 3" x 4".

I can say that the 1200/V3 and 2200 are different size blowers. Like was mentioned above, the 1200/V3 has a 3.5" inlet and the 2200 has a 4" inlet. I remember looking up a chart years ago and iirc, the Paxton 2200 flows 50cfm less than a YSI Vortech.

Let me see if I can find some hard evidence...

So, does the 2200 come in the 2200sl kit for 05-10 Mustangs or is it a special upgrade?

BruceH -Yes its also offered in SL (self lube) for 05 - 10 models my 2200 is SL Version no oil feed lines required.
There is no additional cost the SL is same price as standard 2200
