This thread is ridiculous! You guys rag the fuck out of people for doing the wrong thing and when he comes in here and says he's gonna fix it you still tag him! Fuck off! I'm blocking this shit! It's absolutely idiotic!

Great job for getting the man what he paid for!

Oh also if you are buying used you will never get the same services as you would buying something new from a dealer/vendor!

Back peddling!! Pfft! GTFO!

So this is the last thread I'd ever want to bump but I'm in a Paypal dispute with Connor "Walshyboy1220." Other members had good transactions with him and this is not to classify Connor as a "bad seller," but I don't think he fulfilled his obligation as the seller.

I bought some engine dress up stuff for $135 and he sent me a tracking # which shows it made it to my town of Merrick, NY but the address was undeliverable. My wife went to the post office to try and pick up the package and she was told it was returned to the sender. Connor tells me that he did not put a return address on it. I've shipped tons of stuff from as cheap as a one cent CD and I'm always sure to put a return address label with clear packing tape over it.

Connor has my street name as "Mader" when it's actually "Maeder." Paypal has "Maeder" as well in my account, but this could have been my error...honestly not sure. I also went to the PO and was told that the missing "e" would not cause anything to be undeliverable. (There's no "Mader" Ave. in Merrick and Googling "Mader Ave Merrick NY" instantly brings up "Maeder."

I asked Connor to call the USPS and go to his PO to try and track down the package and he flat out says no. Even if I told him I live on **** Court, the package would have been returned to sender if there was only a return address. I'm kind of dismayed that the seller can wash his hands of the issue and refuse to even try to locate the package.

Sorry to see you had problems with Connor, far as me ,everything he sent me arrived ,no problem.

^ Yeah, I believe he shipped in good faith and I can't determine exactly what happened after that. I obtained a phone number for a "dead letter" facility in Suffolk County which I'll call tomorrow when it's open.

Let me make one thing clear here. I am not pointing fingers or trying to make a bad name. However I have proof of confirmed address that I sent it to from paypal.

However from my records I have a picture of the receipt from the USPS PO that it was shipped to you with the price as well as the tracking number pictured here

Also I have my paypal records here as well. This is the address that you provided me with via Paypals addresses and the address I shipped it to via USPS Priority Mail w/ Tracking. This is your CONFIRMED PAYPAL ADDRESS. I understand you say its Maeder. However its Mader on your CONFIRMED Paypal Address

-------------------------------------------------------
Also, other members here can attest that I clearly indicated before to you in my PM to send my your address on here to confirm the address before I shipped it which can be seen in previous messages. As I have done this with every other transaction however you only provided me with your address via papal

Example here is

Paypal is ........

Thanks

SEND ME YOUR ADDRESS!

(NO RESPONSE)

Once I shipped the package to your confirmed address you provided me with its no longer my problem. I shipped it Priority w/ tracking to the address you provided. So in turn I held up my end of the deal and I am not liable. I shipped it and have proof of shipment to the confirmed address you provided me via paypal. Not my problem you spelled it incorrectly

Yes it I didnt put a return address and I am sorry I am but when I ship most items I dont as I just type out the address and tape them on the package and ship as most people I have done on here for. Yes I agree it is a discourtesy to not attach it however it is not required.

Again I am sorry for this to happen as everyones item here has all been ship and is being received or have received already. I am not way shape or form on the path to scam anyone. But I am not going to let me name get tarnished for a mistake that wasnt mine to make as I used and provided the information to me. Yes this could of been resolved with a return address I agree however I shouldn't be held liable for not putting a return address for a full refund when I shipped to your Confirmed Paypal Address and have proof of shipment to that address which you provided

Regards

Connor

^ I tend to agree with you. However, it would be good seller etiquette for you to initiate a trace on the package.

Exactly!!

Connor, if your not going to put your return address on the package your shipping an easy trick to make sure it gets where you want it to is to just repeat the ship to address as the return address. I've done this many times with no problems.

Also, at least help the guy find the package. A refund may not be in order, but just as a good faith effort, try to help find it. Myself, if I shipped something and the person didn't receive it I'd be just as pissed as they are.

Just sayin'

^ I am honestly sadden that he didnt get it as most of the stuff I send him was practically new. The reason I am being so short and so blunt is I dont want me name to be tossed around as a bad seller. I am willing to help him find it but I dont know where to even start to be honest as I dont know where it would be! There is tracking on the package but I dont know if that would help!

I honestly wanted this to go smoothly and I even shipped it Priority instead of Parcel Services since I wanted for him to get it quicker. But I just dont want to get my name tarnished as I held up my end of the deal and did what I was supposed to do and shipped it to the confirmed address and have proof of shipment.

A refund isnt in order but I am willing to help him find it. I went to my local PO today and asked and they said it wasnt here and where to look if there is no return address. I know it wasnt a big help but I did make an attempt even if here I show no remorse in my previous post

I want this guy to be happy and for us to work things out but I did what I was supposed to and I dont want to be labeled for something I am not. Thats all I am trying to set forth here in my response. If we are willing to not but labels on our names and tarnish our reputations we strived hard to build I am willing to help, I just dont know where to start! I provided all the information I have as well

I really do feel sorry for James and I didnt mean to seem curt on my response as well as posting up his address however I needed it to set my name clear and to provide proof of shipment. If I was him I would be annoyed to if I made a mistake and now outta 130 dollars as well. However I dont know if the time and effort in finding it will balance out the overall cost. Would I be upset? Sure but I just wanted to set my name clear here before anyone points fingers as I am here to a honest and good seller not someone who is here to take peoples money (I am generalizing, not being specific)

I am willing to help out however I just wanted to set forth my position and also the position I am in. Was it a discourtesy to not include a return address, yes I agree it was but I havent for anyone else item and they all received them fine and it isnt required to attach it either. Am I at fault for that? Yes but is that enough for me to offer a full refund when I shipped it with Tracking to his Confirmed Paypal Address that he sent me after I asked for confirmation on PM of the address but received no response to that? No.

Again I am sorry for this occurring but I wanted to set forth where I stand as well as the position. I am in. Do I feel horrible? Yes but I just dont want to be labeled for anything that is out of my control when I did the proper things I was asked and did it effectively. I am sorry again however I am willing to put forth the effort to help in anyway I can aide in the proceedings following his contact with the dead letter rep of Suffolk County

^ You didnt mean to be curt or post my address...um, thanks.

Your PM today said "I will not follow up with USPS," but now you say you went to the post office today- huh?

I don't know what address it was sent to, but one of us would have the package if it was shipped properly. I didn't give my address initially in the PM because I hadn't bought the parts, we were going back and forth finalizing the deal.

I had to post up your address in certain aspects on the receipt to show people proof of shipment. I did my best to mark out everything else to the best of my ability to keep privacy between us of your address and your full name. The last time we spoke via PM was on 18th. I was by the PO today and stopped in and asked and explained my situation since I had to drop off bills and they went in the back and checked and there was nothing for me and or was returned to the PO and the attendant there didnt know where to proceed as well. So yes I did happen to stop by and ask. But I will not go farther then that as I do not know how to proceed from here as well. But you seem to have a lead and I will provide any information I can to help you in your search.

And I didnt mean to be curt in my rude response is what I am referring to as I am here to sell and buy on good terms but not be labeled for something I am not. However like I said before I am not trying to post up any other personal information that doesnt need to be posted. I did my best to blackout anything that wasnt pertinent to the matter at hand and for me to provide proof of shipment to the address.

But dont go now saying I didnt ship it properly. I shipped it to the address you provided me that also was confirmed by paypal. I do feel bad this happened but its not my fault that the confirmed address wasnt undeliverable. I shipped to the address provided and included tracking that I promised in PMs as well and I shipped the day I said I would also to. I held up my end of the deal as the seller. I do feel bad this happened but I am not going to that far out of my way to satisfy this as I did everything I was supposed to besides provide the courtesy of a return address. Will I provide any information needed once you contact the USPS Rep for the dead letter? Absolutely but I am not going to devote hours to this. Like I said I do feel bad that this turned for the worst but I slightly agree and disagree with you on finializing the deal and sending over the address however I still made the effort and attempt to indicate to you to send me your address on PM as well to confirm it, so I did mention that.

However in conclusion I will digress and I will summarize. Did I go to the PO and explain my situation and ask if it was there and how to go further from here? Yes I did, its not at my town PO and the attendant there didnt know to further proceed locating that package any further. Am I sorry for my rudeness in my responses? Yes but I need to make my position clear and to show everyone where I stand and what I have as proof. Have I tried to conceal your personal info the best I can while still showing people the evidence I need to show my position and set my name clear? Yes. I tried the best I could do conceal anything that wasnt needed.

Also in conclusion, Ill provide any info you need from me when you contact the Rep but I am not going to go way out of my way. When I shipped it to the confirmed address you provided to me and shipped on the day I said I would and include tracking as well. I wish things went differently but I held up my end and shipped it to the address you provided and you didnt confirm when I asked for it, be it as it may I asked to early and or too late I still made the attempt for you to send it to confirm it.

How To Address A Package

package_placement.gif
Placement
The address, return address, and postage should all be on the same side of the envelope. (If it’s improperly addressed, it might get returned to you.)
package_retrnaddress.gif
Return Address
Print or type your address in the upper left corner of the label.
package_specialhndl.gif
Special Handling
Clearly mark on the outside of the package if the item is fragile, liquid, or perishable.
package_postage.gif
Postage
Use a stamp or printed postage in the correct amount.

I've sold expensive iphones and never had an issue, but if one never made it to the buyer or was damaged and I chose not to purchase insurance, what could I do? I'd be upset, but would issue a refund.

EDIT- just to add Connor, I don't think this is about clearing your name as I said in my initial post that I didn't think you were a bad seller. This thread has been used to hash out issues and resolve disputes. I am put off how you quickly absolved yourself and said you would make no effort to assist in resolving.

No doubt that the item was shipped in question. When selling on line it is ALWAYS the Shippers responsibility to initiate the trace if it ever comes to that.

When you enter the tracking number on usps.com and click on the little "i" you see this message.

Undeliverable as Addressed
Your item was undeliverable as addressed at 3:29 pm on June 12, 2013 in MERRICK, NY 11566. It is being returned if appropriate information is available.

Based on that if, I think it becomes more your responsibility. You ALWAYS put a return address. Honestly, I am surprised that the Post Office even accepted something with out one.

If you are going to your local PO and they are telling you they have no clue who to call, then you are clearly speaking to the wrong person.

Try this! Maybe you will get someone that can give you more answer.

shit happens, mistakes happen......and if he didnt go thru the trouble of putting a return address on the box then its 100% his responsibility to make it right.....ive never shipped anything in my life without a return address because of this very reason.

I never consider a sell final until the item is in the buyers hand

^^^^^This!!! Nor will I spend 1 dime of the money sent for that item until the buyer has let me know that they are totally satisfied. All money remains in PayPal account until this time so it can easily be refunded if necessary.

Good lesson here on shipping procedures.

Correct as well!! ^^^

Who the fuck doesn't put a return address on a package? That's possibly the dumbest shit I've ever heard! It's on there for this reason!!!! Mistakes!!!! So in my mind the shipper is at fault bc you didn't properly fill out the labels!!

All a return address is for is to C.Y.A.!! Cover Your Ass!!

And by crying and saying I don't want my name tarnished only makes the matter worse. Step up, help find the package legitimately and that will clear your name bro.

All in all I hope the buyer gets his goods and that the seller will learn to put a return address of some sort on his packages...
