I need to find a v6 with no engine.. how hard can that be??

Good luck with that. Your better off just getting a cheap and high mileage v6 and just sell the drivetrain. Good luck selling the v6 engine though. The v6 die hard community has really died lately. Everybody is swapping in v8's.

Ted, I can't beleive your luck...That sucks !! As for the insurance you're it. I did cancelled my full coverage insurance and got an agreed value insurance through Heacock classic insurance. It covers like a full coverage insurance to an agreed value, no deductible. I can't drive the car more than 3K miles a year. I'm paying $303.00 a year for both my 2005 Mustang and 1970 Cougar vert.

I used to work for Progressive, and I hate to say it, but you can plead with the insurance company all you want, but you won't be covered for this under liability. Liability only covers the damages you cause to someone else in an accident. Whether it's just you alone or even if you had hit someone that day, your expenses and damages would have been up to you. This would be a claim that gets filed under Comprehensive insurance.

From what I can see in the pics, you're going to need more than just some body panels from a V6, you like have some minor frame damage, and the front and rear is going to involve some cutting and welding.

Sorry about your accident, but bright side is that you're alive and posting about it.

I'm sorry to hear about this Ted. This truly sucks. I'd start searching craigs list and ebay for deals on mustangs. If your thinking what I kind of thinking you are about the v6, you could probably get a super high mileage one pretty cheap and put your drive line and undamaged GT parts onto it. All you would be worried about is that the body is straight and in good condition.

Damn man, that sucks..I would look for a very high milage GT, like an 05 with over 100k miles..You should be able to pick it up for about $5,000-$6,000 or so at auction, then wap everything over..Good luck man..

Some people still want a lot for high mileage GT's still. Don't know what they are thinking.

Glad to hear your alive and well, sorry about the stang, you would be lucky to find a v6 for 5-6k at a public auction maybe a dealer auction yea def.
Frequent ebay alot for the parts your looking for, parts show up on there randomly like fenders and trunks and such, also keep an eye out on craigslist I always see alot of stock parts and body parts off of s197s for next to nothing. Dont worry about color just get it painted but I do see them often so definetly look on craigslist. Hope this helps. Good luck.

That's what i was thinking.

Ted, maybe you'll get lucky and find a previous daily rentall with a 5R55S in it. Don't get your hopes up too high, but you might even be able to find one in RedFire.

I just got an e-mail with doug and he told me not to get a convertible v6 because it wont handle that much power or something..

But I need conformation.. Is everything swappable in a V6? SD was talking about the wire harness being different?

If you get a v6 your going to have to use the GT wire harness from the SYT to make it work. Also the rear end is different, the v6 doesn't have a rear sway bar, the gage cluster is different those are the things off the top of my head. I think most of the stuff you already have on the SYT if it isn't damaged so you could probably just swap it over.

Where is a vert v6 not as strong as a vert GT? You alread have a GT wiring harness. All you need is a rollbar and some tanning lotion.

Montreal Qc,
Nothing wrong with a V6 vert Ted.

All the other parts you can get off of your car.

It would make for a really nice sleeper.
