How hard is it to get a VIN for a BIW? Or could he use the VIN for the SYT? Ted did you ever do a police report for the SYT? If not it may not have to do a salvage title on your car if you transfer everything over to a body in white. I'm not sure how the laws in CA are.

how hard is it to convert an auto to a manual? There are some GT autos that seem to be ok.. IF I'm going to swap the tranny and rear out anyway... what do I need to do with the peddles and what else? is it a PIA?

I don't think it is that hard seen as how you have all the parts. You already have a clutch peddle and the part of the PCM that controls the auto trans won't be used or you could also just swap the PCM out too.

no doubt it is a lot of work, with the engine and tranny out of the car the difficulty goes down quite a bit, and 4 bolts takes the front seat out which would help also, with beer I would say 4 to 6 weekends, without beer probaly 2 to 3 weekends, depending how motivated a worker you are, it would only take les than a day to strip down a car completely, just need a good selection of tools and one or two extra set of hands,

pcm , ecm , tranny , pedals, master cylinder , shifter , and a few more random lil parts hawg could tell you a lil better than me hid did the swap but oppisite
