Looking to get an offroad x pipe. It's kind of odd to see that a bunch of bent pipes can cost upwards for 500 bucks, so I gotta ask what some of them do that's so special? Is it just because of the name - magnaflow for example has a 500 dollar o/r x - and the new-ness of these cars?
I've looked at a few and the cheapest I could find is the gibson offroad x, on amazon, for about 160 shipped; but no one has ever installed it or done anything with it, it seems. The next ones up are in the 300 dollar shipped range, with upr, bbr, pypes, jegs, etc.
The bbr ones have my eye as they have only 1 joint, less to leak I guess. Any opinions? Should I bite the bullet and try the gibson for almost half the price, or go with the BBR or pypes, something more people have had good luck with it seems?
Last question, aluminized vs stainless steel, am I wrong to assume that aluminized will weigh less? I live in az, so rust shouldn't be an issue, and I don't care for the bling-ness of stainless steel...
Any other suggestions for cheap o/r x pipes?
