Before I start this thing, big shout to Shark and Willy for inspiring the hell out of me to even think of doing this in the first place

The wife is gonna kill me for this but......she's killed me before lol. Most folks know about the car. I dont want to bore anyone with details other than the car has had the APR GT-R wideobdy kit on it since like 2009. The car is originally a Saleen S281 lol. What can I say, I like to change things up like most everyone else around here. Anyway I want to go ahead an jump on the 2013ish front end conversion. So that means the entire wide body kit needs to go away, possibly to a new owner. There are not many of these kits floating around and I'm sure it will find a happy home. Just few pics here of some past set-ups. I've also added a pic of the kit laid out next to an APR car for reference. As always opinions and comments are welcomed and appreciated.

Dunno if it is just me, but the first pic looks great. I would rock it like that if it were mine.

I would buy it off you but then I would definitely not be able to get my car in and out of the driveway

Thanks, its not just you..I rocked it that way for a few and just needed a change :)

just FYI, the car is bagged in those pics hints why it's sitting so low. The grey paint pic is sitting on sport lines just for reference.

So what would one do about completing the kit for the rear if they bought your front clip?

I may have been a bit misleading in the description, I'm removing all of the wide body panels from the car thus going back to the stock body panels. The entire kit would be available at that time. Hope that clears things up.

Any idea on when this might happen and what you will be asking? Who makes this kit?

APR Performance makes the kit. Check out the kit on their site. The removal of the kit can happen as sooner or as later as it needs to. I'm in no super rush however if you are in a rush, we can adjust accordingly. I want to have the car done in the next 4 months or so for sure.

its not the height that's a problem, its the width. as it is I am only clearing the mirrors by a 1/4" and it has to be on the right angle or else my fender will scrape my neighbors stairs

Damn, I love the wide booty. Looking forward to what you come up with!
Thanks bro, my situation is kinda like yours with not driving it much, neglect really. I need to get it done.
Sub'd!! Make it happen brother!!
too easy bro

oh wow, I think that the first time I've heard of that being an issue, usually its the bumper scrape etc...
Always liked your car, can't wait to see what you do next.
Thanks a lot, the car has be in hiding for what it seems most of its life lol. It really needs to get out more often

I liked it best in the first pic buy I do like the wide body. Looking forward to the transformation.
That first pic was actually back in 2007. Thanks for the compliment.

Thank you, when I first saw the kit, I had to have it, loved the deep dish wheel opportunity there. I may even be able to keep the wheels on for this next build

Craziest build I've seen on a S197... Crazy you're going through it again!

You got some big $$ already in it!

Thanks a lot of the compliment. The wife is telling me to just sell the car as is instead of rebuilding it, just buy the newer model, stripping off the kit etc is not worth it she says lol. She may be right but you guys know how it is lol.

If it were me, I'd keep it and get a 13/14 and have a second project :naughty1:

Have you thought about talking to APR and see if they can work with you to make a '13 style front conversion for your current kit and keep the wide body? If it were me, I'd love having your car on my website showing it off.

I would love to get the 13/14 and keep the wide body project but since we got the RS5 there is not much room for another car at the house. I spoke with Tony over at APR about that, we are looking into that now, may still have the same fender issues as most already know about dealing with the conversion...

do you have a straight on shot of the car?
strangely enough I don't really have many pics like that. Here are a few though.
