Just got a response back from Comp Cams regarding my online cam request. They are recommending the 127205 cam but I've never heard anyone else on this forum mention that one. I'd feel better about the recommendation if Alex spoke English as his primary language. Who knows what may have been misinterpreted.

Brian

Being that you mustang is supercharges our xfi blower cam (127205) should help make nice performance below 2000 rpm.

This cam should help make nice power/torque,great throttle response, and will have a nice lumpy idle,
The cam specs are 222/239@ .050 and the lift is .450/.450 on a 116.5 LSA

cam=$737.62

I do sell direct let me know if I can send some parts over or if you have any other questions. 1-800-365-9145 EXT:1234

Also I can do a special offer of FREE shipping in the continental US on orders $50 or more.

Thanks

Alex

Duration is similar to livernois blower cams, lift is a lot less, and the lsa is 3.5* more than the livernois.

I don't understand LSA but I know the Stage 3 heads have heavier springs and can handle a lot more lift than stock cams, so less lift looks like something not designed to flow with these heads.

The smaller the lsa is the rougher/choppier the idle will be. The bigger it is the less choppy it will be.
My stage 3s are 229/236 @ .050", lift is .535/.550, and the lsa is 113*

I am still highly recommending the 127300 or 127450 (more leaning on these).

I bet Livernois's specs will be very similar to the 127450s.

This is copied from Jason's email. Again, it's just random numbers to me. I kind of get the different functions but don't get how that translates to how the engine runs. Yes, xxx degrees of intake, xxx degrees of exhaust with xxx degrees of overlap still means nothing to me. Anyway, here's Jason's recommendation:
Skwerl, we recommend a custom version of our custom stage 3 blower cams. [email protected]" .535" .550" on a 114.5 LSA

So same as mine except with 1.5* more lsa. I know their stage 3 turbo cams are listed with the same specs you posted above but with .5* less of a lsa.

They are basically a comp 127500 with a 113 lsa. I'm running the same cams with 6 degrees of retard ground in. They work great for my na setup.

The last I spoke with you they were working with your turbo. Is that still the case or did you pull the turbo?

After 3 months and now that I'm shopping for cams, my tuner says he doesn't think my cams are the problem. He thinks the issue is caused by the larger port area of the heads. I don't know what to do any more. All I want is a car that will idle correctly. Unfortunately at this point every single thing I try to do to move in that direction is fucking expensive and I can't get any sort of consensus as to WTF the problem actually is. Fuck me.

I'd listen to your tuner. Chances are about 100% that he knows how to tune for hot rod cams. That being said you would probably be better off with different cams considering all that's been done to your motor. A little wider lsa and less duration would probably help your idle considerably no matter what the mods are.
