Project Large Caliber - Cam's NEW 2009 Bullitt Build Thread

I guess I'll start with getting organized. There is shit galore inside the car. I need to clean it up and label hardware and clean up a little. If I get to the shop tomorrow I'll do the following -

*remove front seats
*remove console
*remove steering wheel
*unbuckle harnesses from the front

Good thing I didn't finalize any of the HE fan wiring. What should I be aware of with the dash trick?

Also do I need to change anything with the SJB or what about fuses in the both the SJB and the Fuse Box?

Side note -
Got a new stud today for the rear axle and new battery tray.

The dash comes out as one complete assembly. Radio, steering wheel and all. But (here's the trick), you do have to remove the cluster to access a nut that has to be loosened before the whole dash can come out.

The SJB, and Fuse box are exactly the same between GT coupe and GT500 coupe, so you shouldn't have to do anything to them.

The nut holds the dash to this bracket:

I knew it was going to be crazy, I knew it was going to be a PITA with somethings. I wish I could have invested in an entire donor car, but nothing was out there at the time. Either way I'm excited to drive the piss out of this thing when it's finished.

Body harness is in route, not sure of the ETA.

Managed to do some work today since I was waiting for call backs in between wrenching.

I got my new "low profile antenna" - The other one I ordered was way to finicky looking and I just didn't like it.

Looked this one up on Amazon and then bought it on eBay for $20. Got the radio adapter for $4~

Started unplugging the body harness in the rear. I never noticed that there is a mounting point for a second FPDM already. Good stuff

Took out the front seats. My brother just chilling in the passenger side in this pic.

Thanks to Sam's insight here is that hidden bolt behind the cluster that needs to be removed.

I didn't feel like removing the entire dash today since I would much rather have the harness ready to go in right when I get it out so I'm in the mindset. The new body harness should arrive next week.

Decided to go to town and vaccum the entire cabin. Found a lot of loose change and dorm keys people have dropped in my car during college. Lol

I really wish I had Dynamat...

Next up was finalizing the wiring on the C&R HE. I've been lazy with it but it needed to be done perfectly.

I almost wanted to just run it off 1 relay, but decided two relays at 45% capacity is better than one at 90% capacity like RR/C&R suggests.

Lol. I can't even start to think about the next phase of this car where I'm at right now.

Disconnected a little more of the body harness today. I'll probably just wait till next weekend to spend the entire day working on removing the dash. The following weekend I'll be moving my GF from SC home and I'll be picking up a stock 2013 GT500 Midpipe along the way. Got a lead on a Gt500 fuel pump so hopefully I can get that on the way too.

Just to sum up what needs to be done before the car can be running
-Swap Body Harness
-Wire up HE to manual rocker switch
-Tighten down CAI/filter
-Needs oil/pump primed
-Change transmission fluid
-Fuel Pump and second FPDM installed
-Custom tune
-Gauges installed (still need to order them)
-Comb over everything and double check it all

Still on the hunt for a C/F DS and will need to refill rear axle fluid too before I get it on the road.

Thanks buddy! I hate the fact we are driving from SC to VA, but we are breaking the drive into 2 days. We are still planning to detour through the VA beach area to pickup my 2013 Midpipe and an engine block.

Scored a GT500 dual fuel pump hat and both FPDM's today for $200 shipped, so they should be on there way. Literally once I get back from my SC trip I plan to have everything on the car and ready to fire it up.

Side note, crossing my fingers my vert will be ready tomorrow or thursday for pickup.

Cam, did you ever have contact with your wheels when they were spaced out? I'm wanting to throw some 1 inch spacers all the way around, lowered on BMR springs.

1" is too much. I had Cam's old 5/8" spacers on my 09 and they were about perfect. 7/8" would be the max I'd go with.
