Hey all. I'm new and thought that I'd make an intro. I bought a 2012 Kona Blue Mustang V6 with cloth interior sight-unseen with a Biohazard - Salvage with 148k miles from Copart for $1,921 (including shipping).
It was a run and drive but had a few problems:
Broken Taillight
Hail damage
Missing the passenger rear seat back
Carpet stained with who knows what.
Door card vinyl is missing
ABS Codes
A/C Blower motor sounds like a tornado siren
There is a front end noise that I'm suspecting is the rack
I bought and replaced the taillight online for $60
I am in the process of sanding and filling the hail damage so I can repaint. Gonna do Ink Blue rustoleum with some sort of blue flake pigment.
I couldn't find just a seat back for a good price so I got a rear set of leather seat backs and the bottom seat for $80 and they look so good. The seats came from the earlier s197 so the headrests are non existent. Still better than cloth.
I replaced the carpet (after a couple of attempts to make my own lol -$110) then ended up getting one from the junkyard for $20
I'm gonna glue in the missing vinyl. $35
The ABS code was for the brake pressure sensor and I fixed that by swapping the sensor with a used part for $55.
I replaced the AC Blower with a new from amazon for $43
All to say so far I'm into it about $2,635.
I've gone down the rabbit trail and have seen AMR turbo kits doing 5-600 hp on stock motor and trans and I want to see how cheap it would be to build a 500hp car. I want to build my own (china) turbo kit and try to be all into the car for 5k. But I also bought this to sell and don't want to dump money into it lol. Decisions decisions. It would be pretty wild to have a 500hp car for 5k.
Any one know how much power turbo 3.7s with forged pistons and rods make lol?
