PCM VIN is wrong.

Hey there, I have a Ford Mustang GT 2008, and when I first bought the car, the owner explained to me that the PCM and BCM were replaced. They managed to get PATS working with the keys but I think they stopped there. For whatever reason, the PCM VIN is missing one letter from the actual VIN of the car. Ford dealership couldn't get their software to connect because of this. And I'm not sure if the BCM has a VIN programmed in it, and if it does I can't find it on FORScan.

My question is, would this be the cause of all the body codes I'm getting and why miscellaneous things like ABS, traction control, HVAC, horn and other things aren't working? I was told it's because the BCM isn't communicating properly with the PCM. I just bought a vLinker and plan to load as built data onto the PCM, but if anyone has any ideas or experience with this please let me know, thank you!

Go to another dealer. They did not do it properly. With IDS or FDRS, it can be done. Need to go to "As Built" Will ask for VIN and that will start the process. Basically you are traching the vehicle that there are different modules in the vehicle.
