I am looking at taking my NA engine up to higher revs when I install new stage 3 heads this winter and am looking at putting in forged internals while I'm at it. Does anyone have experience with Eagle cranks and connecting rods and Mahle pistons? I am currently looking at keeping the stock 4.6L of displacement. Are there any other companies that I should be looking at, I am looking at these because Ford Racing uses them on some of their crate engines. Thanks for the help.

If you are talking about the FRPP stage 3 heads I suggest you be careful. I don't know if the issues have been resolved but a few people have had valve guide issues with them including Lito who does my tuning. I suggest that you shoot him a PM to talk about the heads if they are the FRPP ones you are considering.

Has anyone had trouble with the FRPP version? I know that Livernois does the machining but it seems that only the Livernois branded heads come up with defects. I've often wondered if frpp has a fairly strict inspection process that results in the Livernois heads.

OP: If you want to stay na then I suggest you look into the Big Bore Boss block. I've had a number of combinations and can say without a doubt that until the valves are unshrouded with a bigger bore you will be limited in power. With a Big Bore Boss and 3.750 stroke I made 437 uncorrected rwhp. That was with frpp cnc heads, cams that were about the same as 127500 retarded 6*, 12:1 compression, and on e85.

The most I ever made with a similar setup and .030 stock bore was 347/347. It's a noticeable difference.

Dysan, thanks for the heads up they are indeed the ones I was looking at. I have so far managed to stick with all ford racing parts and because its a Bullitt and came stock with ford racing parts I'd like to keep it that way. Well the exhaust is branded Borla but was used on the FR500S mustangs. Hence the Eagle Crank and Rods and Mahle Pistons, they are used in a stroker engine, if it came with a ford racing engine or car I consider it to be ford racing. Might be straying away from that though as the list of parts expands.

How high are you planning on reving it? These 3v valvetrains are not "spinners".

Belinda from modularfords? Maybe they were. Most of the bad valve guide cases I've read about were from the other place. It was one reason I went with the cnc heads. They flow almost the same and have standard size valves. The only negative was the larger combustion chamber at 53cc.

I think that the big bore really woke those heads up and allowed them to flow the air they were designed to. It's just an opinion though, the only proof I have is a dyno showing 90rwhp more but it's not an apples to apples comparison. 12:1 vs 11:1, slightly different cams, 37 more cubic inches, and long tubes.

Weren't Linda's heads FRPP?

Don't want to go with a blower, yes its cheaper power but not cheaper in the long run having to replace a trans. Want to take it as far as I can NA within reason. Any idea how much going with a big bore kit would be? Would like to do all of the work myself but thats not possible with a big bore kit at least not the machining that would be necessary. Again thanks for the help everyone.

If you stick with a stock crank it can be quite a bit less expensive and still have 304 cubic inches.

The big bore needs a hone and deck. 304 cubic inches with a 3.701" bore is better than 302 with a 3.551" bore imo.

If going all Ford I would get a Kellogg(Cobra) crank and Manley(SVT-terminator) h-beams and Mahle Pistons. Although for a N/A motor I would use a 8-bolt Windsor cast crank and have it knife edged and use a set of Boss 302 Rods.
Modular Performance used 8-bolt Windsor cranks in a lot of their N/A builds.
Cast cranks plenty safe to 600+RWHP and Boss Rods have proven to hold 800+RWHP. Both with RPM better with less windage than heavy forged crank and a H-beam rod and both are stock Ford parts

Broke dafuk down
there are many build threads on this site, please take some time to search and review them. this topic is very well covered.

once you've done your work, then please ask more specifc questions that relate.

This is not like most other boards, this is not a tech topic on this board, please review:

Lol.. ^^^ I am starting to think that is a canned message. What do you do press the retard button to send that?

Actually you must have a quick key for:

"retard wants to build motor"
"retard wants to know what headers"
"retard wants cams"
"retard has ticking noise"
"this is not tech retard"
"here are the rules retard"
"Must have username in your pic retard"
"here are the fucking rules again retard"

... sigh...
