Recently I purchased BFGoodrich Rivals from the Tire Rack, in size 295/35-18. I am quite pleased with the tires, and soon I'll need new ones. The Tire Rack shows no current inventory. Does anyone else sell these tires? I can't seem to find them anywhere. I've even heard that this size may be discontinued. Anyone have any factual information on this issue? I need to get new tires soon!

Tire Rack is the only place to get Rivals. That is the only fact I have.

I don't think they will discontinue that size. How recently did you purchase these and what did you do that you would need new ones already? Mine went on in the spring and I have about 80 autox runs on them and 3 dual driver track days and am still not to the wear bars.

as of right now, the rivals are exclusive to Tire Rack. I bought mine in may and mine are already down to 4/32's. i have 1 road course day and 1 autox day on them with probably 5k miles and a couple drag strip passes. These are the best tires ive ever owned. I seriously doubt they would discountinue this size though because it has to be the most popular with the mustang crowd. They may be reworking the molds on the tire though. They've had some issues with the inside tread seperating on some of there wider sizes.

I purchased the tires before the driving season started, and have used them for 5 track day events. I still have a little life left in them, but I'd like to have the next set on-hand before I need them.

Im in the same boat 18x11 with no tires, waiting for tirerack.

If you could choose another 200-240 UTQG tire besides rival what would it be?

Call bfgoodrich and see when they'll have some available

54078 is the part number, but the michelin automated line won't accept the part number from anything external to the rack. :( Maybe hit 0 to get a person?

Just got off the phone with BFGoodrich. They claim that the 295/35-18 Rival TA tire IS still in production, but currently out-of-stock. The telephone rep was not able to provide any details on when they will resume production of those tires. They also confirmed that the Tire Rack is the only dealer that sells that tire line. BFGoodrich will not sell directly to the public.
The Bridestone RE-11 would be my second choice, but they do not make a 295/35-18. I really can't use a wider tire, and I am unwilling to resort to a narrower or shorter tire.
I guess I'll just have to wait.....

Are you talking about the V1 RS3s? That is a good price for a damn decent tire. For a track day guy that didn't have to meet 200tw rules for anything I would give that some some very serious consideration.

Yes. I don't know why that link doesn't work right, but Hankook RS-3s (V1) in 285/35/18 are $884 for all four. That is a good deal.

Hankook retroactively made all the RS3's out there 200TW tires, in odd conjunction with the new SCCA street class.

I hope the Rival's are back in stock by September. I still have to buy a set for my 18x10's.

From what I hear, the falkens are as good as the rivals. A lot of the USCA guys were running them

Look up the Crows Landing SCCA results. Maier, Hobaugh, and Pozzi were all there with their Falkens and about 3 seconds off the pace.

Sometimes the best tires are the free tires.
