I don't know why, I just recall they are not compatible, however if you search you can confirm.

I thought I read that the factory 2011+ TPMS will not work with pre-2010 cars, but the aftermarket sensors will. Not sure.

Last I knew, the early band-mount and later valve stem-mount TPMS are different systems; there are new stem sensors that will work with either, but you must select the appropriate aftermarket sensors to match the car's original system.

Edit: I was quoted $60 per wheel, installed, and gave them a pass.

Edit 2: Is there a "Drag Pack" as well as a "Track Pack"? New one on me.

I'd just turn it off in the tune...

The warning light does off after about 20sec. It's the beep and the warning from the on board dash system that is annoying as hell. Called my local tire shop today and they quoted me 50.00 a tire to mount and install tpms sensors on my car

What year? It doesn't in my '13. After the annoying beeps, it blinks until I clear it (hit Reset on the steering wheel). Then it stays lit until I put my street wheels with the TPMS installed back on.

I have read about people getting one sensor, some PVC pipe, end caps, and air fitting. Throw the sensor in the pipe, glue on the end caps and pressurize the little "pipe bomb" then throw it in the trunk. TPMS system is happy.
