Just got a set of MT ET Streets on my 2005 GT. Last night at test and tune I only got 2 passes in. Both, at launch the car bogged and fell flat on its face.

The first pass nerves got to me, only launched at 3750RPM. No where near high enough, I know.

Second pass I launched at 5000. And still bogged pretty hard. Cut the best 60' the car has seen (1.868) which still isnt great.

What RPM are you all launching at?

What tire pressure, suspension mods and gear does the car have?

FWIW, my 3v layed over on 6500rpm launches on 26x10.0 stiff walls. It had full rear suspension and a 3.73 gear. If I would have had 4.30's it would have left really hard or if it had more power(only boltons). I think the best 60' was a low 1.8x with a 3.73 gear.

jeez, i get better 60 foots than that with street summer radials @ 32psi

i'm hoping to do a lot better when i get et street pros but i want to do a lot to strengthen my rear end and probably get an aluminum driveshaft and maybe new clutch. don't need to break anything. i would start around 6000RPM and go down from there, you certainly have the tire for it

are you guys running these tires on the stock clutch?

yep stock clutch w 90k miles

Same here. I cut 1.90 60' on bad 20' radials and all stock suspension except sportlines by revving up and sliding the clutch. Depending on your setup and combination dumping the clutch isn't always the way to go to get the best 60'. Get with one of the good suspension guys on here and they will help you get your car dialed in so you can get the most out of what you have.

3.55 Gears. I think I need to go for kill on the daily driver and step up to 4.10's.

12PSI for tire pressure. On 275/50/15 ET Streets

I will upload the GoPro video of the 5k RPM launch pass as soon as I get it on youtube.

So 6k and above seems to be the sweet spot?

Eibach ProKit springs and Adujustable PanHard bar are the only suspension mods. Should have LCA's before the next TNT. (No Front Sway Bar)

Bias ET Street?

They are MT ET Street Radials PN 3753R.

As for the PSI; The car is hooking up hard, and after I made a pass the tire has not spun on the rim. Think I should air it up a little bit for next friday?

"MOAR RPM" Sounds like it is the key to victory.

Also, thank you for the move. I threw the thread in chit-chat because I wasn't sure if the Drag Racing Tech threat was a good home for it. Better safe than sorry.

That is a hell of a picture. Ive got the front sway bar off. I guess I need to grow some balls if I want to get the 1.65 60' that I want.

Thanks for the input everyone. We will see how it goes Friday :rockit:

It'll take some trial and error with your drag radials (stick shift cars respond well to bias ply tires).

Document everything you do, and make only one change at a time (i.e. leave rear tire psi and vary launch RPM, or leave at the same RPM and vary tire pressure). It's hard when you're at test and tune and can only get a few runs. Try to get in line behind someone with slicks/skinnies - otherwise you'll probably be on the starting line after some dude drove through the water box.

Keep with it and have fun.
