Too low

Just purchased an 07 GT. Car has a bunch or stuff done to it. The rear springs have too much drop for my taste and I would like to bring it back up about an inch. I hope to pick the car up tomorrow night from the dealer. I will try to find out what brand springs are under it then. I could tell they were red/orange in color with what looked like white lettering.

Any recommendations on springs to raise it back up an inch?

Honestly for good ride quality and closing the wheel gap you would be better served to go with a taller tire and a spring drop of no more then 1-1.25 inch drop from stock. Anymore and the ride quality stinks and handling suffers. I have tried a bunch of spring to find the right balance of ride height, ride quality and increased handling and that is what I have found for my daily driver.

I think eibach prokits have the best drop. Low enough to look good but high enough to not scrape on every pebble in the road. I think they're 1" in the front and 1.25" out back

Steeda sport springs are the same as the Eibach's, 1" front, 1.25" out back..

Actually, there is if you can get yourself to look at more of the tire to sheetmetal gap than what's at the top.

In OP's case, the lowering is enough to put the wheel and tire well out of the center of the openings, and his case does look excessive (to the point of being 'wrong').

Making the top gaps (black arrows in the below thumbnail) little or nonexistent will make the lower gaps (yellow arrows) larger, with the slopes of the sheetmetal edges clearly sloping in the opposite direction to the round shape of the tires - which makes the tires not fit right. Just because some lowering may be good doesn't necessarily make more better, and too much is just too much.


If OP can get a closer read on the lettering on his springs, it might help figure out whose and what they are.

Wes her is one for you, GT500 Splitter, differential limited by the over axle exhaust pipes and drag radials tucked in.

I just raised mine too haha.. the ride was so bad I put my Steeda Sport springs back in the rear. The Steedas are really a great spring and the ride is just a tad firmer than stock.. it's BMW-ish. I'm going with BMR next though, as I have heard they ride super smooth but are a tad lower than the Steedas. I think the -1.5" drop is perfect for our cars. Lower than that doesn't even look good to me anymore. *hides under table*

I'm on CJ RA springs now and they are stupid low. That is my own driveway so i scrape the front everytime I pull her in and out.

Ok, car has eibach sport line springs on it. I need something to bring it back up a little. The axle housing is actually hitting the exhaust on the passenger side when hitting any fairly sized bumps.

Can clearly see sportline. Maybe previous owner chopped a coil out of them.

Get a set of the BMR springs, for what I hear they are very good.

I found a eibach pro kit local, I may give them a try. Looks like that is 3/4 of an inch higher than the sport lines.

Odd. I'm seeing 1.4" front & 1.5" rear for the Pro-kit springs and 1.6" & 2" for the Sportlines.

It may be possible to shim a little extra height if you have some fabrication skills and possibly a MIG-welder.

Picked up an eibach pro kit this afternoon. Guy said it was for 05-10 but it turns out it's for 11+ cars. I put the rears in tonight anyways because from what I have read they are the same as the earlier cars anyways. Raised the car about an inch and no more clunk from the axle hiring the exhaust.
