Long story short, chain guides broke-chain ran along timing cover and got metal shavings in motor-ultimately scored all my stuff up and need to replace all bearings and what I can assume heads. Question is, am I better off finding some 3v heads and using those and then replacing all lower end bearings or what? I had comp cams in there and don't seem to be scored so they should be good but just kind of wondering what I should do for value. Thanks for any replies.

So you have torn the motor down and see damage to the bearings? I ask because metal shavings should go to the bottom of the pan or get sucked into the oil intake where they would have to pass through the oil filter prior to the oil being used for lubrication and positive separation of the bearings/rotating assembly.

The motor has not been torn down but I'll drop oil pressure and I pulled the cam cap and it's scratched to hell
