Wiper cowls

Hi everyone,

I'm dealing with an issue regarding the wiper cowls on my 2010 Mustang 4.6 GT.

As you can see in the attached photo, the alignment between the two pieces of the cowl is off, especially in the center. To make matters worse, on the driver side, the plastic mounting hole doesn't line up with the hole in the metal bodywork, making it impossible to secure that point properly (also, it seems someone used screws instead of the original clips before I got the car, but that's a minor issue).

I'm wondering if the previous owner installed the wrong parts, or if the plastic has simply warped and deformed over the years.

Anyway.

I've been looking for replacements, and according to https://ford.oempartsonline.com/, the correct part numbers for the 2010 model are AR3Z-63018A16-AA and AR3Z-63018A17-AA. Unfortunately, these seem to be discontinued and quite expensive when found as new old stock.

I've come across several used sets from 2013-2014 Mustangs, but they have different part numbers: AR3363018A15A and AR3363018A14A

Does anyone know if these are interchangeable? Is it just a case of a part number revision/update, or are there actual physical differences that would prevent them from fitting a 2010 model?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Andrea

Those appear to be the correct pieces. Is th edrivers side tucked under the way it is supposed to be? That is a pretty straight forward replacement.

@ Andrea. take the Driver side cowl out ( simple job ) then use a heat gun ..and "dry blow " the part a little ( not TOO HOT !!! ) call your wife, a friend..a neighbor to hold the heat gun while you are " streching " the cowl a little in the right direction ..towards the passenger side.
I Think you will be able to resolve the issue .

But again !! Take the part out of the car !!!! And use warm but not a very hot stage of heat

Thanks for the advice! Glad to hear the parts are correct for the car.

Regarding the cowl itself: I'm pretty sure it's tucked in correctly, since the rightmost screw lines up perfectly. The problem is with the middle mounting point. I've already tried pulling it off and reassembling everything, wipers out and all, but it just won't seat right.

I think I'll try the heat gun to see if I can persuade it into place. If even that fails, I'll just source a used one in better condition. Just to confirm, are these cowls compatible across all trims and years from 2010 onwards?

The 05-09 are different. The middle part of the driver side looks distorted. I needed a dedicated wiper arm puller to get them out (for painting).

..Andrea has a 2010 Model... I think the car sat in the sun for a real long period... this can result in such deformations...
