in short . Capability to immediately respond to variable road conditions . it not only provides better traction, it also enhances the general performance of a vehicle. There is a marked improvement in total tractive effort as compared to open or conventional limited-slip differential equipped vehicles. In addition, it also allows the engine's torque output to be used more effectively, delivering more horsepower to the road.

If your going to be serious about road racing it's a must. I was shocked in the difference from when I switched .
Exactly...for the $$$ it a worthwhile upgrade...after the basic suspension mods are done.

I thought our mustangs already came with LSD. Then I looked it up and it only comes with it from the factory if you have 3.55s and higher.
I have 3.33s :(
If I upgrade to a LSD will I need new gears as well or will the 3.33s work still.

Hmm are you sure about that? I've got an uber-base model with 3.31's and a LSD. Only options on the window sticker are locking lug nuts and exhaust tips..I think all GT's have it.

When the time comes I'll be installing the Eaton Detroit True-Trac 8.8" 31 Spline Limited Slip Differential. Thanks.

Saw that..but what difference will I see between the two, say, on my drive to work? Will the R be noisy? Am I going to chirp/scrub my tires getting into parking spots? They don't get into details as to *why* they recommend the T2 over the T2R for dual purpose cars without IRS..

Good lord. You're an animal. How often do you go out and carve?

..is that grossly premature for these? Guess I can't say "dead" as in it's still functioning as a differential, but my limited slip is more of a moderately liberal slip these days. If there's a traction difference side to side, forget about it. One wheel wonder, baby!

How often do I go out..well, I bought it almost a year ago with 4,000 miles or so...6 or 7 DE's and some street carving, and there are a couple very nice curves on my commute that I have fun with if traffic's clear...

5-6 track days on sticky tires with the factory t-lock and you will be doing one-wheel-peels in no time.

I have the T2R. No idea what the difference is from the T2, but I can say I have no noise issues. It also helps that mine was set up by a guy that has probably done 200 of them.
