Well I can't describe how fun it was to have both Jim's (JDM) sit there and watch us all run today...:leghump:

The track belonged to ST customers today and everyone had a new best. I'll let them all tell you their stories but mine was...

10.340 @ 130.23!!

Better than that was four runs were within .03 and all of my lights (pro tree) where in the .030's. I'm really going to try to make a stab at FFW this weekend. The ultra stang class has a .10 breakout cushion so I'm probably going to dial in a 10.40 and let her rip each pass...

Here's the slip and I know Pual and Ken got some videos so they should be up soon. BTW: Congrats to Dean and Ken as well for personal best runs also!!!

Mark, you need to put about 100 pounds of ballast in your trunk to be able to run on that 10.40 dial. If you run 10.30's in qualifying your dial will be 10.20's. Or sandbag a tenth during qualifying if you are that good with your car. It's just easier to add weight during qualifying runs and take it out for eliminations. Unless I'm mistaken or the rules are different for the west coast exhibition events it's not "name your dial" like bracket racing but your dial will be based off of your fastest qualifying pass.
I'm sure I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know. Have fun and good luck!

Wow... Excellent run Mark!! :thumb:

And +1 to what Kevin said... depending on which class you run in, you may or may not be able to set your own dial in. UltraStang and Mod Comp uses your time trials to set the 1/10 breakout. So, do like Kev says and add weight during time trials. But, you may not be legal for U/S (or True Street), unless you are running on DOT tires now. If you still have slicks, you might be able to run in Quick Challenge, but you won't be able to use the trans brake. You can use slicks and the transbrake in Fast Challenge and Mod Comp, but you'll be racing against cars with delay boxes in Fast Challenge .

Mine was a 10.59 @ 128.79 that was at 4:42 pm right after a 10.635 @ 129.07 at 4:39pm. How's that for hot lapping?

The videos.....

Ok so here are some videos---I am going to load them up in the video section to.

Ken's 10.59 pass---not a great video since I filmed it from past the 1/8th mile mark, but the sound of that whipple is awesome! The "commentary" by the tuner at the end is pretty funny.

Whipple supercharged daily driver goes 10.59 @ 128

Mark's 10.34 pass---once again filmed from past half track. Just wanted to try a different angle---would have been pretty good if I was on a ladder or on top of an RV or something.....sound is good on this one to.

Kenne Bell supercharged mustang, street driven daily

Another vid of Marks car--10.43 @ 130mph from the typical angle

Daily driven Kenne Bell supercharged mustang

And last but not least is a vid of my car. Car wasn't running so hot, changed the plugs--will change the O2 sensors tomorrow, best I could muster is a lowly 11.32 @ 119. Car was just flat on the top end. Torched what was left of my M&H's, getting some new ones tomorrow. With new O2's and tires, hopefully will be in the 11.0's all weekend:

02 sensors bad---should be in the 11.0X range this coming weekend

And congrats to Dean for a new best 10.62---I am glad Ken got the vid for you....

I know you and Kevin are right but I don't need weight. I tried shifting at 6000 rpm and ran a solid .10 slower (10.43)

My plan is to shift at 6000 rpm throughout the trials and 7000 rpm in elimination. Yes, I have new ET Streets DOT's on the car now. I'm running U/S

Good plan. Don't miss. Also, be sure you close it up on the top end during eliminations. Do not just rip by someone full throttle through the lights. If you close in on someone before the finish line then "fender race" them to the finish line. Especially JDM. He doesn't like to lift in the lights. Another tip if you race him......be sure and check to see if he has "DEEP" written on the window or not. Sometimes he will not deep stage during time trials and even in the first or second round. Then, rather suddenly, he will do so. Other times he will flip flop this tactic. This can screw some racers up on the tree. They are sitting there waiting for him to go deep when he isn't and bam.....tree flashes and you're late. If he goes deep he can sometimes cut a good light (.020 or better). If he is not going deep he will be late (.070-.100).

I couldn't make it out there so someone else needs to ruin his little Saleen homecoming party for me. Good Luck!

Thanks Wheeler. Lord knows you know how to cut a light...:leghump:

We got screwed anyway. The wind in fontana was 70 mph and they cancelled the event! Jim did not qualify #1... he he

I ran yesterday and hit a 10.45 on a 10.44 dial with a .032 light so I was ready for him. I'll have to wait till next year...

I've sent an e-mail to one of the Barona track owners for some additional details about that weekend, and I'll post more info when I hear back from him. But, it is scheduled for Sat-Sun, 11/10 - 11/11.
