Check out the race tune and let me know!
I took a quick drive with the new new race tune and I am not too sure what to think just yet. I need to drive it a little more to give a fair analysis. Here is the impression I got so far: It doesn't have the sensitive throttle of the previous race tune which makes it a little easier to live with. It doesn't have a kick in the pants feel as I believe the powerband is smooth in a majority of the RPM ranges.

My first tune with BBR was not I what I wanted it to be, I sent them an email and Chris wrote me another tune and sent it to me, uploaded it and felt a night and day difference. Went to the track got pretty consistent time (low 9.00's in the 1/8 mile.
Problem now is getting traction on 20's with street tires....

Nice, if you want something more aggressive, just let me know. I got a few tricks up my sleeve! :)

I drove the car again today but I couldn't get on it too much because I had the wife in the car. From what I can tell this tune is aggressive enough as is but is more livable especially in parking lots than the previous generation race tune.

Chris, can you rate some blowers on energy required by the engine to spin while cruising. I'm looking at saleen, whipple, and maybe kb. I want to get good efficiency on the road.

Actually, parasitic loss on all of those blowers are going to be very comparable. The TVS blowers from Roush and Edelbrock will be slightly different, but the Saleen, Whipple and KB are all going to be very close.

There are good things and things I would change about each of these kits. If I had to pick the one I like the most, Whipple would be the one. I would simply install the Whipple HO kit exactly as it comes out of the box, except I would relocate the intake air temperature sensor to the back of the blower. There's a nice 60 or 70 dollar Ford Motorcraft sensor/pigtail I have the part numbers for and you'll just need to drill and tap. I have all the specs on that. This will allow the best calibration for that system, and it will make great, reliable power! There are some really nasty aftermarket front drive setups (like the Steeda that even replaces the snout) that will make this a monster if you were ever to go big down the road!
