I had a spec 3+ and BMR adjustable UCA installed on my car last year and the clutch was hard to get in the "sweet spot" and there was a little vibration and shaking at first. That went away when the clutch broke in well and I had FRPP springs installed (possible pinion angle issue corrected by lowering?) I haven't driven the car since back surgery (3 months ago), but prior to the surgery there was a sound like metal on metal when the clutch pedal was being released. I had the stock flywheel resurfaced when the clutch was installed. Yesterday I cranked the mustang and backed it out to clean it (can't drive a stick yet but I figured just backing it out of the garage wouldn't hurt lol) and the metal on metal sound was still there. I'm wondering if maybe it could be something with the flywheel, clutch, or pinion angle? The sound seems to come from the front, but only when the pedal is released. What is ya'lls opinion(s) on what the cause is?

If it only does it when the car hasn't fully warmed up yet, then it's probably the seperator plate between the trans and the engine.

It does it when warm also, but what would need to be done with the seperator plate to fix the problem if that was it? Just retighten?

There's a few ways you can do it, but re-tightening won't really help. It can vibrate at the bottom of the bell housing. I just had some old silicone fuel line from when I ran nitro rc cars and I cut the tubing and stuffed some between the plate and the bell housing. I suspect some good old silicone caulk or rtv would work as well.

Mine is doing this exact thing only until the engine warms up...sounds like a metel to metal grinding sound...but only when cold...I just got a new clutch put in it as well...when we pulled the tranny we noticed the "dust cover" as I call it was missing 2 lower bolts so when we put it back in we put some bolts in where they were missing...could this be the reason for the new sound?!

It could be the cause since when you installed the 2 "missing" bolts, you would have pulled the "dust cover" closer to the bell housing making it easier for it to vibrate.

That is very true...I'll have to get under the car and see if removing those would help any if at all
