If you recall I replaced the Heads on my 2005 GT because of a bent valve, well I have replaced the Radiator, T-stat and blead the system, and the car still overheats.
The fan runs all the time over 200 and the temps while driving will stay at 200-230, sitting at a light it will rise over 240-250. I do not have coolant in the oil or coming out of the tail pipes. (I use an Aeroforce Intercepter to see the temps.)

It's been 2 months my car has been down, any Ideas please..

Hmmm...I would have said that it sounds like the t-stat isn't responding but you said you recently replaced that. Could it be the CET sensor going bad? Have you looked into that. I know that reads cylinder head and coolant temps. Especially since you just recently replaced your heads.

What is the CET Sensor? and where is it. The Head temps stay around 200 deg even when the car is over heating.

The T-Stat is installed Correctly, but I will re-check

The Fan is working, I even turned it on using my Track Switch that leaves the fan on all the time.

hmmm....so you are using the aeroforce gauge to see head temps and coolant temps correct? or the aeroforce to see head temps, but the gauge on the dash shows overheating?

i cant see how the car can be over heating if the head temps are not actually going up. i dont beleive our cars actually have a coolant sensor, they just monitor head temps and thats what gives us the coolant temps. thats why some guys put coolant temp sensors in the side of the block.

when the temp goes up on the dash to 250....does it start blowing coolant out of the cap on the coolant resevoir?

im wondering if your gauge is messed up?

No odd noises except the phaser gear tick on the passanger side, it's noticable.. When the temps go up the engine knocks.

I may have mis-typed my last statment, the head temp does rise but not as high as the collant temp. No fluid is blowing out the bottle I do not let the temps rise that high, I will shut the car off for a while and let it cool down.

I am replacing the Radiator again this weekend, the one I bought from 1800 radiator is chinese made and looks smaller than the FMCO origional, so I bought one from Ford and will try it.

So Items I should try...
Check T-Stat
Check Water Pump
Check Sensors

Replace Coolant with Gold coolant not yellow.

Anything else?

i wouldnt even worry about spending any money on coolant at this point, it will be a total waste until you get the problem fixed.....coolant or no coolant is not your problem!! dont waste the money!!

reason i ask about it blowing out coolant is becuase at 250, mine will blow it out thru the cap becuase of the pressure.......have you checked your cap or replaced it yet?

im running a thicker core rad i got off ebay for less than $200 shipped, it made things night and day....but with your mods you should be having any issues at all with just a stock radiator.

have you checked the coolant with the car running and the cap off, do you see any thing coming out, bubbles or vapor of any kind?

how does the car run when its not over heating? if your timing is off it will cause the motor to overheat also.

Are you sure the thermostat is opening? Is there a weep hole? I had an issue where the water would not pass through the weep hole which prevented the thermostat from opening causing an overheating issue.

I know this seems obvious - but you checked your water pump, right?

Also, did you use brand new gaskets when your replaced the heads?

Yes I used New Gaskets and Bolts.
I think the water pump is OK, how do you know if it's bad? besides the obvious... (Noise or water leaking out )

I will pull the T-Stat in the morning and put it in a pot, bring it to a boil and see if it pops open...

Any codes?

Mine started overheating and it was my cylinder head temp sensor. Not the sensor itself, but the wire. I had a dead short in it causing the car to think it's overheating which made it go into limp mode.

Mine thru a code saying the sensor had a circuit problem.

No Codes.. Yes the fan is running and turns on at 190.
I checked the T-stat and it works fine (Replaced it anyway) I started the car today, let it Idle watching the temps, 190 fan comes on, 200 fan still running 220 fans still running pump is working, after 10 min at idle the temps were still climbing I shut it off at 240.

I am at a loss, I have no idea whats going on, it did not do this before I did the heads so this must be related to the heads.

Are you absolutely sure there are no air bubbles in the system? Did you personally install the head gaskets?

I personally installed the gaskets.

I ran the engine, then opened the screw on the crossover pipe and let the air bubbles out there until coolent started to leak out.

Anyone know what the average at Idle temps are normally?
