umm yea that dont help, they dont list by year, and their descriptions suck...

i was basically trying to see if anyone actually pieced together part numbers of what was needed...who maybe had done this before...

No.

From what I can tell that is the only S197 driveshaft currently offered by Ford Racing, and like I said it looks like it has an SN95 flange.

nice, it just sucks all previous mustangs can get a FRPP for 250, and we have to spend 700+

Just take your stock driveshaft to a local shop and have them make you one.

I got quoted a little under $400 for a one-piece from our drive shaft shop.

good luck with that...mine was built locally and it took tons of work and 3 different shafts and two different shops to make it work.

one of the best drive shaft shops around want even try to fab a drive shaft for a s197

Go to Shaftmasters - they have a direct bolt in 3.5" aluminum. Great product, excellent customer service, and the price can't be beat.

i love the shaftmaster shaft, i think i am going to get this one....do i need the one with the pinion flange or the direct replacement one?

If your not changing gears get the direct replacement.The other comes with a pinion flange.Looks like you already have gears.So I'm pretty sure you don't want to loosen the pinion nut to put a new flange on.

If you're interested this is the one to get. Does away with the slip joint and the double hook joints which only work if perfectly aligned. Which is impossible with the Mustang and the reason Ford made theirs two pieces with CV joints.

They make an aluminum version so you don't have to pay the big bucks for CF.

I don't think Ford makes a direct bolt in replacement shaft for the S197. Most of the aftermarket shafts I have seen are not direct bolt in either. They are usually installed with a new pinion yoke, or some use some sort of adapter to make it fit.

You might want to search Google, as suggested, but for after market shafts that are direct bolt in.

I just looked at the Shaftmaster link, and they are one of the few that advertises DIRECT replacement, so there is no yoke change or no crappy adapters. looks pretty good to me.

The PST doesn't require an adapter because they use a CV joint which superior to a hook joint in every way.
