Lol that's not preventative thinking. Obviouly people make mistakes in the past and that's life. However when someones been known to have less than honest intentions in the past, and that side has started to rear its head again defending the guy sounds pretty ridiculous........to me at least. Why wait for something bad to happen when there's a track record of it nationally. Not to mention it appears the OP seems to have handled this professionally thus far with no tangible results. Been there, done that, heard the excuses, I feel your pain buddy. Fact is lots of people like to chime in and defend this guy, but unless you've actually done business with him you have NO idea how bad he is. And in my opinion it needs to be made public because this guys a VENDOR on this board and as such should be held to a higher standard.
