gt500 brake upgrade, what is needed?

so I found a set for sale that only comes with gt500 rotors and calipers. would I be able to use stock lines and everything else other than pads with this?

Yep, it's basically a caliper and rotor swap. And dust shields if you want, but a lot of people (myself included) don't use them at all.

Yes you can use the stock brake lines. You can just remove the rear brake shield or better yet install shields with the attachment for the hose.

Just FYI the "dust" shields also called splash shields keep water from splashing on the rotors when its raining. Water on the rotors act as a lubricant especially with upgraded pads. I've had it happen as to stepping on the brakes and not getting a whole lot until the pad face dries off and they grab. Braking distance is increased by 20-30% when this occurs.

Again I'm talking about it affecting street driving. I leave them off on the track for better cooling. Street drivers in wet environments ye be warned.

I'm guessing HPS would be good on the street, but not on the track..

edit: I read good things about the ceramic pads too.

just don't mix them back and forth, you will get "rotor shake" caused by pad transfer between incompatible pads.

HPS & HP-Plus are NOT compatible with ceramic pads.
