i like it, and love that GM used the ZL1 name over the Z/28. i know im probably the only one, but it is a badass car. imagine what BPUs will do for it. 700whp is probably no out of the question.

even as much as i like camaros, id still probably fork out the coin for a shelby. the weight of the camaro is not needed. there is no reason that car should be so heavy.

i doubt 700whp is possible considering gm went cheap adn put hyper pistons instead of good quality forged materials like ford did with the gt500.

656/636 with P&P heads, cam and pulley. thats only 13psi too. stock they boost 10psi. id be willing to bet that with out the cam/and P&P head and more boost you could probably make just as much or more power. i know it has a different blower and other things but ZR1s are up over 800whp with bolt ons.

Honestly GM did a great job of repackaging a car that would not sell and slapping lipstick on this pig and sending it out the door as the prettiest pig in all the land! They should call it a GT Camar O because thats what it is!

But on the other hand because it was in Transformers I think I should buy one, maybe it will end up being in a movie or making me famous?

Ted Bundy was famous too. fame is overrated.

Yep all of that is true, the LSA has the smaller R1900 TVS blower so with a blower swap to the ZR1's R2300 blower they are making 630 rwhp on stock internals.

If it made 900whp on stock LS magic, got 70mpg, and donated $1000.00 to Unicef everytime I powershifted 2nd gear. I would never trade one for my 69.

I love it when the Camaro guys come over and say "great color what is it". When I tell them it's 1970 Grabber Blue, they seem to lose enthusiasm.

I would love to have a new Camaro to park next to this one. However, GM needs to build one that has the looks to back up the potential of the powertrain.

Have you seen the frankendash?
They are trying to go high class lambo interior and screwed it up.

There are like 3 levels to it and it's all stiched together, and they still have the 90's boombox radio. :/

Well at least the steering wheel looks like an improvement :beerdrink:

You know what I actually went and drove all 8 cars all three levels of the challenger and mustang and both the v6 and ss camaro's. Only car hat had any mods was the ss camaro had full longtube exhaust tune and I take was and automatic. Car was heavy, small inside, CHEAP every where I mean it's an ss it cost in the mid to high 30ks and felt like I was driving a cobalt. You cant see out of it. It rides like shit. I mean my full sleaze suspension is only barely worse than a stock ss camaro on ride quality. I mean WTF is wrong with you gm learn how to build a damn car!!

I am in agreement with you guys when I was asked to run a finance department at a Chevy dealer for a short while. I was able to drive on as a demo to take it home and have fun with it, I took it to lunch and came back and got keys to a C6. I had to be nice about it when they asked me why I didn't take it home and I told them I wanted one of the other managers to have it.

The seating position is one of the worse in the business, this car needs a backup camera more than most SUV's because you can't see out of it and the only thing nice about it was the drivetrain. The suspension really isn't bad on the highway a little less vertical movement than the Mustangs but the rest of the car needs a lot of work. Soon they will move off the ancient Zeta platform and I hope take the lipstick off this pig and make it a better car.

This car is too heavy with too much technology to be a Z/28....however with the Boss coming out it was mentioned that maybe a Z/28 may come to the table with more of the spirit of the Z/28.
It's amazing how many guys don't know you couldn't get Factory A/C in a Z28 or SS until 73, this includes guys selling Camaros they claim to be an original Z28 or SS.

The Zeta was developed in 2004 and the first model year was 2006.

Is the S197 ancient also?

The Zeta chassis has not had the constant improvements the S197 chassis has, drive a 2005 stock S197 and a 2011 and its a night and day difference.

I like how this red one looks at 720p. Looks like the same tires as the gt500. I wonder if itll cost the same. If it came in at 40k, it would be tough to beat, unless the boss's forged internals take as much boost as the gt500s 5.4. I probably wont be buying the zl1 though or any car for that matter this year, still modding the gt...

Its base price is $47k so its only about $2,000 under the GT500's base price. And the Corvette and GT500 both received the F1 G:2 and now the Camaro gets them but in different sizes...
