I'm at my buddy's house getting ready to put a system in my GF's Xterra. He builds systems for MECA Competitions. Here's his spare bedroom. . . . . .

Looks expensive, haha

He has a lot of stuff that is beyond competition grade. He also has a lot of stuff that are one of a kind prototypes, etc. Some pretty rare stuff. He lives in the middle of nowhere and has people drive literally hours to his house to have him custom build systems for them.

He never goes by factory specs on any speaker, he plugs every one into his computer and finds their true specs so every enclosure and amp is perfectly matched.

Take it from someone that works in the car audio field. That's alot of money and rare stuff that I would love to play with. Some of those u will prob never see again.

That looks like the kind of stuff that makes me want to reach for a firearm if used to potential...

On a similar note, the SEMA Action Network posted on another forum about a bill introduced in Hawaii to ban most aftermarket stereo equipment of this nature. It's been deferred, but it's just a matter of time before someone gets pissed off enough about getting vibrated out of their skull that something like this happens for real. I understand that the vast majority of users are considerate enough to keep volumes reasonable when next to other people, but it only takes a few to screw it up for everybody. And you never know who's sitting in the car next to you....

I'm also one of the first to appreciate a clean sounding system.

Is that a gerbal behind the speaker?

I wouldn't have a clue on how to hook all that up.

No, that's a dog, lol

I'm going to put up pix as we build this box for her. This is a live build thread now, lol

The port won't be this long, this is just a mock up for our angles. We'll cut it to the right length to tune the box later.

This box is for an Aura 10" sub. Not a very big box, 1.5 cu' Tuned for 32hz with 12.69 sq" of port.

Looking good. Are you guys using some sort of software to make the box?

Using WINIsd (Beta 5.03) for the box

Using WT2 with custom 64bit beta firmware for pulling TSP's from the driver for it's true specs.

This is the speaker we are using. It has an FS of 27 hz and a sensitivity of 84.95. It's hyper efficient. Total cost for it. . . . . $83 shipped, lol Incredible deal for a speaker with specs like this.
