Im trying to figure out before I install my saleen s/c tomorrow if I need the water pump harness that saleen sells on this site http://speedlab.saleen.com/store_co...111004&store_id=1&dept_id=981&product_id=7101 in order for the water pump to work, or if I can just make on myself, and I also need some help on how I would go about hooking up the I/C relay pack (I think thats what it is) From what I was told it is used for switching on the water pump but I dont think I want to use it because I dont want to for get to switch it on and there she goes. I would just like to have it turn on when the key turns on, which I was told that I can hook it up to any 12v source and it will work. Somebody please chime in and let me know thanks!

Here are some pics of the harness and the plug on top of the water pump I was talking about.

You can use what you have there.

You will need a connector for the pump.

Hook the negative side of the pump connector to chassis ground.

Hook the positive side of the pump connector to pin 30 on the relay.

Hook the normally open side of the relay (I can never remember off the top of my head which pin, its either 87 or 87a) to either the positive at the battery or the power connection at the fuse box under the hood with an inline fuse.

Hook pin 86 of the relay to chassis ground.

Hook pin 85 of the relay to the wire at the noise supressor on the front of the engine block (its a little black thing with one wire and a metal bracket that attaches to the front cover just to the left of the alternator)

When you turn the key on, the pump will run, and shut off when you turn the key off.

The Saleen wiring has the plug (clear plug) that connects to the JDM clear plug. Basically he is only missing the pump connector. Why it isn't on the other end of that Saleen cable is beyond me. What you stated was correct, but for what he has the short version is:

Connect the Saleen plug to the JDM plug.

Connect the Saleen +12V wire with red eye connector to power source (I used the lug in the engine compartment fuse box).

The two wires that are cut are (1) the "key on"/"run" trigger wire to fire the coil of the relay and (2) the +12V to the pump. The +12V of the pump is most likely the larger AWG. Normally, the pump wire is shorter as Saleen had you wire the trigger wire to the smart relay fuse panel in the passenger compartment. I used one of the fuses in the engine compartment and did the "add a fuse" for my trigger and avoided the smart fuse box. You may want to verify which wire is what before connecting. The trigger wire, when the JDM plug is connected to the Saleen plug, should have continuity when measuring with an ohm meter. The pump wire will not since it is on the contact side of the relay. Do this with the wire NOT connected on the car.

Connect the - (gnd) of the pump to a ground point.

Connect the Saleen -12V wire with the black eye connector to ground.

I wired my pump the super easy Roush way ...

Ground the negative to the Chassis.

Run the Positive to the pin on the no longer used CMCV plate harness .. find the pin that is 12V with Key On and that is the one.

Super Simple.

Ok so do I need to buy the harness for the water pump from saleen?

If you want to wire it like mine ...

The harness from Saleen (the latest and greatest one) has the plug for the pump and a Postive and Negative Cable coming out of it. If you have the Plug that goes to the pump you are good. You ground the pump using a bolt on the mount. You will need to extend your Positive wire to the CMCV plug if is isn't long enough.

I don't think that is going to help him with the JDM relay and "key on"/"running" bypass toggle switch.

Just extend the +12V pump wire to the pump and get a single connector for each for the pump (+12v and ground). You can even get them in waterproof so that they shrink tube to the wire. Or buy the plug for the pump. I would get the plug if it was readibly available.

Is the I/C pump you have supplied by Saleen or is it a Cobra or Lightning pump?

Correct

I have been trying to determine which repair harness offered by Motorcraft is correct for the Saleen I/C pump. Contrary to popular belief the Cobra/Lightning I/C pump does NOT use the same connector as does the Saleen I/C pump.

I've called Saleen and they were absolutely clueless.
