3.4L Whipple Install by AOP

This car is being built and tuned by Nate from All Out Performance in Fresno.

I have finally started the installation of the 3.4L Whipple that I bought from Forward Performance that was made by Adam from ST Motorsports.

We are in the process of completely changing my car. Here is a list of what this project as of right now consists of:

3.4L Whipple
Afco Duel Fan Heat Exchanger
In trunk water intercooler
Fore Triple Pump fuel system
Innovate Harmonic Balancer
Forgestar F14 flat black with MT Drag Radials
Alkey Meth kit

The list was suppose to stop there but we noticed that the blower would not fit with out lowering the block an inch. If any one with a 3.4L whipple knows the solution for this let me know. We plan on just upgrading to a tubular K-Member which should solve this problem.

This winter a TH400 will be going in as well.

Once we received the blower, we were more than happy with the quality of the purchase but the inlet to the blower was well built but not a work of art. We decided to redesign it and refab every thing to have less welds and a smoother look. Here is what we have so far, the inlet is going in for powdercoating tomorrow black to match every thing else.

The two pictures before show the inlet that was made before. Works great and gets the job done thats for sure, but with a car with as much attention to detail as mine it just would not cut it. So AOP redesigned one that is a work of art.

Another shot to compare the inlet and the work AOP put in.

If you have aftermarket motor mounts, it's sometimes possible to machine the mounts and get another 1/2 to 1" of clearance.

Otherwise a k member will work.

First time I've seen a Crusher on a 3v. Awesome!

Not a crusher that baby was custom made or were you referring to the 3.4L. There are a few people out there that have this set up. I think all of them are also on this forum.

Yeah i think the K-Member is the answer it needs to get done any ways.

How much did the elbow run you?

I cut my Prothanes 20mm with zero clearance issues. I'm pretty sure you could go 5.4mm more (total of 1") with no issues. I'm still running the stock K-member.

The elbow was of a deal that I have with All Out Performance. If there is any thing you need done just PM me steve over there as allot of attention to detail. Yeah I am not sure if we thought of that but it wont hurt to get a K-Member.

Looking forward to seeing the powdercoated intake elbow

Yeah every thing is going to be black I can't wait to see the finishing touches

How did you get the 3.4L to bolt to a 3v intake? I'm looking but I don't see an adapter.

Adam from ST Motorsports use to fab the 3V whipple manifold to the 3.4L Whipple. That also why a custom inlet has to be made for fitting issues.

I forget where but I am pretty sure you can get 1inch drop motor mounts. I know they make them for the gt500 so you can fit a big ass blower under the stock hood.

I myself have been thinking of building the short block and running a supercharger. I would probobly run a kenn bell 2.8 mammoth. I have heard that with high boost on these motors you will need to run stiffer valve springs to keep the intake valves from floating under high boost. and that stiffer valve springs will cause the VCT to become erratic, so then you need to lock them out.

2.8 is a great way to go. I just got a great deal on this and all ways have been a fan of whipple. I will look into that, but I do need a K-Member so I'll have to think about whats next.
