Window tint on a vert??

Looks great, but yeah get new weatherstrips for your windows. My tinted windows are really bad right now but I installed the moleskin and will be re-tinting it soon.

Forget the moleskin and go to your dealer or order this online. All Mustangs with a model year of 2008 have these and they won't scratch your tint. I would roll your window down as little as possible until you get these.

^^^^^This right here. Why bother with sticking on some crap that may or may not stay and may or may not start getting glue all over your windows. I just did this last week and it took maybe 15 minutes and it's done and you don't have to worry about it.

Now I have to get mine re-tinted since the old style ones have put scratches all in my tint.

Is that the correct or full kit for the convertible? With the convertible we also have the back windows to contend with so another set of "wipers"

Ok, well not so much help at the Ford parts counter. I was given two part numbers (left/right). The numbers are 8R3Z-6321457-A ($53.53) and 7R3Z-6321456-A ($54.69). The rear quarter is part number 297B06 and appears to be the same for both left/right. Now here is the kicker! They want $85 for each side! These strips are going to cost twice as much as my tint job did. According to the stealership these strips are the same that was installed in 05 - 09 and it wouldn't be any different than what I have already.

End result - not going to bother. Will be cheaper to replace the tint if in fact it gets scratched.

You need to call a dealer like Tousley as I just looked up the door p/n's on their website and they are showing a price of $23 & $20. I could not get the rear window p/n to work, but in doing a quick search, the rears are coming up at $37 & $36.

I've seen both parts and compared them. Mine cost $25 per side after tax at my local dealership. There is a big difference in the ones for 05-07 and the 08 parts. They have different numbers and are made differently.

Doesn't surprise me that they didn't know what they were talking about. The guy was asking me if the tint went on the outside of the window.

Hahaha, good ole' stealerships. I can promise you that they are different as I've installed them myself on my fiance's 2007 Mustang.

BeerHunter, if you're out of luck - you might want to check this out. Can't go wrong for only $30. They came with instructions even with pictures so it helped me do it myself.

They have a kit for convertibles as well. I have their kit but still need to replace the tint first. My car is a coupe by the way.

Not for myself and some others. I will be the first one to admit that the majority of people have no issues but I did. I followed their directions to a T on my fiance's car and it ended up coming off a couple months later in 100 degree weather. It left adhesive all over the window that wouldn't come off with Goof Off, ruined the tint essentially.
