I have a new to me 2011 convertible base V6 mustang. The rear windows are down and the top is down. The car seems to think that the rear windows are up so it will not raise the top. It also thinks that the top isn't fully open or closed and it won't raise the rear windows.
At some point it's going to rain and I'm going to have to get the rear windows up somehow. I have disconnected the top so that it can be raised and lowered manually.
I have tried disconnecting the battery multiple times. I've tried numerous reset procedures for the rear windows to no avail. I'm at the point where I'm considering removing the rear window regulators and applying current directly to the motor or removing the motor and actuating the regulator manually.
Any suggestions before I take extreme measures? This seems like a very common problem on the s197 convertible.
