i'm looking to spend around $600 or so this summer for a new exhaust setup. im wanting to do everthing from the midpipe back...i know this question is asked a lot, and everyone has their own opinions, but what should I look for in an exhaust kit? or is it all just opinion. i was looking at this roush kit, but I havent heard anything about it.

also, i dont have emissions stuff in my state, so i dont have to worry about that. any input is appreciated...:thumb:

the V6's can get real raspy if you use the wrong pieces. You will never get them to sound like a V8, and you have to do your exhaust differently than a V8 car.

I have had 3 different set ups on my wife's sixer. The best system we have had yet for good sound and good looks is an X pipe with 2 chambered mufflers. Like the Pypes sytem and the Roush system. Pypes has good quality, it just takes some fiddling to make it fit right. But fiddling with your car comes with hot rodding.

I did a Pypes true dual conversion with GT take offs. The car has no annoying drone and sounds good. Plenty loud 25 feet behind it and inside it sounds great.

so if i got a offroad h-pipe it shouldnt be too raspy right?

american muscle's dual conversion kit, cut off the mufflers, put 2 flowmaster 40 series (nice deep tone), and a squared tail pipe!

should sound pretty nice

you can use a more aggressive muffler with an H normally. But a non-catted anything will be more sound than you may like. The secret to making the sixers sound good is to squelch the bad sounds while keeping the good. GT take offs are cheap. You can normally buy them for $25 each or less. I'd try those with your off road H and see from there if you want more sound. No sense spending $300 for mufflers you don't like until you know.

ok thanks, that makes sense...

where is a good place to find O/R h-pipes? they dont seem to be as popular as other types of midpipes...

Hey, I have a supercharged v6 with a dual exhaust system. I went with Stainless Works. They make a good product and the car sounds great!

A 12 sec. V-6 with dual exhaust, and she knows how to handle it. This car is impressive.

Welcome aboard. You going to have it done for Joliet?

I'm running the pypes mid-muffler system and get a lot of compliments on it. There is some drone though, but that is easily fixed by rolling the windows down and turning the music up.

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about pypes, so i think im gonna stay away for now. i just made a deal on some cherrybombs last night, so all i need now is a midpipe, right?
