Car bucking yesterday....

Did not do it in the morning. Filled up on the way home from work, and yesterday I went out for the evening and it was bucking. When accelerating. Its not overly bad. But it was doing it. Is it possible I put in some bad gas? Something came unplugged? Any input would be great. Thanks in advance

Bad gas, weather/heat related, worn plugs, clogged fuel filter, the possibilities are endless but it's probably maintenance related.

You throwing any codes? Mine did the same when my alternator started going out.

Plugs are brand new, have not done the fuel filter yet.

Car was warmed up, never did it before yesterday afternoon. And no codes.

Mine has done this on and off. It will buck one time, real bad. Then nothing for a few weeks at a time. It's mostly when I don't let it warm up in the morning. The car has 45K miles. I haven't changed the fuel filter.

I would drive it normally till you have like 0miles till empty and spend the money on some good gas.

I alway spend money on good gas. I don't use racetrak or Hess. I use BP most of the time. This was BP

stay away from shell. all that stuff in it made my car lean pop and had to replace the valves

This is my first bad experience with BP. I'm hoping its bad gas as nothing else was wrong before that. I mean its not awful, but its doing it occasionally.

Update.... Not bad gas. Was doing it real bad last night and today on the power tour. Finally threw a P0340 code. So I'm having a bad miss, not a bucking. Just have to find out which coil went bad. It gets worse when its raining.

It is but that's also the first sign of the alternator going bad... which is what I initially stated.

Called my dealership and said he has never seen the cam sensor go bad on these. He suggested its most likely the coil. But it could be the alt also. If I pull up on both window switches. The car surges

Im in Palm Bay.

When I did a search for P0340, it came up Cam sensor. now I did do it from my phone. So thats the first thing that came up.

Luckily, it lasted so I was able to get home. In the 16 hour drive, I pulled the code 2 times I think.

It says it is the cam sensor but it is really the alternator going out. The PCM is very sensitive to any electrical inconsistencies.

This is really coincidental this comes up. Yesterday, my cat threw the same code as well as another cam code and it was bucking a little. And I happen to read this post.

I want to AM's website and ordered a new alternator and there in the reviews are guys with the same code buying alternators.

Also, when you do a search on the topic, it all leads to the same common resolution.
