I think that's more for a consistent grind into 2nd or 3rd, whereas I have an occasional grind only going into 3rd and only at WOT and is (I think) caused by torque causing the driveline to get out of step...and shifter upgrade wouldn't necessarily prevent this, though I do have a Hurst Comp...

Mine's an '08 - I was under the impression that they had the upgrade anyway? If not then any Euro Ford dealer will comply - take a while to get the parts though...
