    tired of being slow

I found that even a relatively small outlay on upgraded suspension parts improved matters no end with regard to cornering and my own set-up is what I'd consider the bare minimum (but still room for improvement)... however any lighter car with a shorter wheelbase has an advantage in the...

pictures of Mustangs in foreign countries

There's at least three S197s in Baghdad as well as a couple of older Camaros and Pontiacs...I did a proper double-take when we saw them driving out of the Green-Zone about three years ago... They have a US Car-Club there that's now come out of the closet, so to speak...

In Germany...but it's mine...does that count? Taken on a trip through the Sauerland - 6 hours of forested hairpins like the one in the background... Thank God for suspension upgrades!!!

Italy sucks...oh yeah, I need help please

Most of that sounds like 'Army' admin problems rather than Italy per se... Take a trip north and you'll find some better roads to play on - and buy a TomTom satnav that has speed-camera alerts pre-installed, then you can tear up the mountain roads with impunity - the Autostradas are just for...

What is the best Suspension out there?

D-Specs had some quality control issues in the past, which is why I went with Koni shocks - they have a very good after-sales rep, unlike Tokico... Koni's also offer more adjustability than the D-Specs... Depending on how low you want your car to look will determine which springs you eventually...

    Question on Suspension Mods....

After much searching and research according to the sort of driving I do, I ended up with the mods listed below. I drive hard/fast on narrow twisty mountain roads as well as putting in some track days at the Nurburgring in Germany...the set-up I have now means I can easily keep up with BMW...

    cornering noob

I think that's more for a consistent grind into 2nd or 3rd, whereas I have an occasional grind only going into 3rd and only at WOT and is (I think) caused by torque causing the driveline to get out of step...and shifter upgrade wouldn't necessarily prevent this, though I do have a Hurst Comp...

    cornering noob

Mine's an '08 - I was under the impression that they had the upgrade anyway? If not then any Euro Ford dealer will comply - take a while to get the parts though...

    cornering noob

I've not noticed it a significant amount - not enough to bother me anyway, unlike the 3rd-gear grind, which does annoy me (happened three times and that's three times too many) and which the torque-limiters and brace should address... The roads I play on are usually mountainous, forested and...

    cornering noob

Nope - just what's on my sig... I nearly went all-out and bought everything under the sun (since I could afford it at the time, why skimp on parts?), but after chatting with Sam Strano who sold me the stuff, we decided that I didn't really need them...I know I sound like a schill for the guy...

    cornering noob

It's true - I spent 45 minutes yesterday with a modded VW Golf GTi trying to stay with me around some of the Sauerland's more serious mountain twisties...I got the impression he was local and might know the roads better than I did, but nowhere did he look like he was able to get anywhere near to...

    cornering noob

While the suspension 'kits' available are more than adequate for most applications, a little more money spent can get you much better quality parts. My sig details the stuff I sourced in the US for about $2200... (I'm over in Europe, so I researched this a LOT before I pulled the trigger as...

    5w30 motor oil???

Most of us in the UK and Europe use 5w-30 as it's generally accepted that 5w-20 was only specced for the CAFE regs you have in the US. There was some heated debate on the issue until we had some oil company techs come on and go through it all with the Mustang Owners Club of Great Britain...

Please Allow Me To Indroduce Myself...

I know it - I was with 7 Armoured Brigade 'The Desert Rats' at Bergen-Hohne north of Hannover til this month - I'm posted back to UK 11 Light Brigade, but since hooking up with a German girl I'll be moving back here after Afghanistan. Driving in the UK just isn't fun anymore... Another sunny...

Deployed to Iraq bad, save money for modding good

Deployments are the best way to save, plus you'll change your mind abbout what mods to do first about three times a month while you're out there... My 2008 Iraq tour paid for the new suspension - this year's Afghan tour will pay for...hmmm...well it's either going to be a Vortech S/C or an...

Maybe so - I was told not to use the original strut mounts apart from the rubber cup which is re-used as part of the Steeda installation, as this was pretty much guaranteed to happen...
