You do have to remove the upper part (most) of the console. But overall getting the stereo out of these cars is REALLY easy. There's even a decent amount of space behind the player to run wiring. The HARD part is when you decide to swap speakers and/or run wiring....that is a MAJOR PITA!

Mine did this a few weeks ago. I pulled over and couldn't find a thing. Drove off and it was gone. i think a rock got in between the rotor and caliber.

I installed the Eibach Pro Kit on mine with 20" wheels and it sits very nicely. I haven't yet aligned the front end but the camber is way off. The toe looks to be off too but that could be due to potholes. I found some Steeda adjuster plates on EBay for $165. They are very high quality...

Would seem to me it would depend on the offset. I have 10" in the rear and about 1" of that 10", due to the offset, lies outside of the car.
