Paul's 2011 Race Red GT Build

Oh yeah, and results... My stock Coyote managed 135 mph. My buddy's Shelby did 158. There was a ZR1 there with 1000 or so horsepower running 175. Bunch of cars in the 150s in general. Here's a vid of me vs a 517 rwhp supercharged M3. I had her the whole dang time, until right at the end...

Paul's 2011 Race Red GT Build

Attended No Fly Zone Arizona over the weekend - a half-mile top speed run event at an airport just outside of town. This was the most fun I've had at a car event in quite a while. You get to go flat-out for a full half-mile on the airstrip, then you have another half-mile to stop. My buddy Jamie...

Swap to 14" rear brakes for $299.99

Do you buy longer wheel studs to accomodate for the spacers?

    Brembo 4 piston Logo Dimensions

I have a couple sets of stencils leftover from painting my brakes. I have them for both 4-piston ones, and the larger 6-piston ones. I can sell 'em to you if you like. They're not doing me any good and I don't have any more brakes to paint right now. Paul.

Base GT brakes to 15" Brembos, dust shields

The 15" Shelby brakes have tiny dust shields that cover the tie rod and protect it from heat. Some people don't install them. I did. See picture below.

    Wheel/Brake Clearance

Pffft. Forget the 18s, get 20s!! Plenty of clearance!

... what rear lca to go with

If it's just your daily driver, and ride comfort is a concern, I'd just stick with the stockers.

Swap to 14" rear brakes for $299.99

Yes, I always leave the TC on. The pads were dragging. It was completely obvious. You could hear them dragging when I would drive through my parking garage at work. Look at the uneven wear on the rotors too. Dealer didn't care, told me to pound sand. I bought Shelby brakes anyway, so I just...

What have you done to your mustang today?

Took advantage of our 80 degree day here in Phoenix (eat your hearts out suckers) to finish painting the 4-piston Brembos I took off in favor of the 6-piston ones. After eight coats of clear, they're drying in the garage right now. :) I think tomorrow I may install my new billet pedals. Paul.

Swap to 14" rear brakes for $299.99

Hah, yeah that's what I thought too. The rear brakes were making a ton of noise, and the rotors were getting eaten. I took it into the dealership, told them that this wear is not even close to normal, and asked them to replace my brakes under warranty. They told me to pound sand. It was pure...

Swap to 14" rear brakes for $299.99

I swapped in Duralast rear pads after my rear brakes ate a set of rotors at 16,000 miles. (which the dealer said was normal BTW... WTF??) The duralast pads are quiet and produce very little dust. Much nicer than what Ford gives you. Plus, they have a lifetime warranty so when they wear out...

What have you done to your mustang today?

I just signed up for a 1/2 mile drag race event at a local airport in a few weeks. :) My buddy signed up in his 700 hp Shelby too.

The "how much it weighs" thread

My custom power/heated leather Recaros were 62.2 pounds. The manual seat tracks would be a few pounds lighter than that. Recaros are physically larger and heavier than stock seats. The stock premium/power/401A seats that I took out were 57.8 pounds each. Paul.

    Problems for Saleen?

I loved some of the older Saleens. Sucks anytime a notable aftermarket company fails. The S-351 is one of my all-time favorite cars.
