You were right, there was some play in the crank gear. About .005” to .010” back and forth. Just put on all the MMR parts this morning and there damn solid
Thanks for pointing that out for me.
Thanks for the recommendations.
Im not even going to bother checking it.
Just put in my order for
-MMR billet crank gear
-MMR billet trigger wheel
-MMR billet chain guides
Putting a lid on it till those parts show up
Thanks for sharing your experience. That checks out for me
No. My chains where still tight. One of my tensioners failed and go stuck fully extended out to.
No 2 step on the car.
But yes I hit my limiter very often when its not worth up shifting coming into corners
Think this time around...
So I was tearing down the motor today cause I assumed one of my chain tensioners seal blew out. “Was not the case” what actually happened was my new tensioner on right bank got stuck open. Completely frozen in place.
Would that just happen some times?
Second would it cause the crank trigger...
They supply the tensioner clips because felpro probably assumes most people probably lost, threw out or never had any clips at all if they still have the “from factory tensioners” still in the car.
Trying to reset your timing without the clips would be a total pain in the ass with out them even...
yes! You would then peal off the factory bead to get a nice clean flat surface to use this gasket.
Same gos for if there brand new as well. Tear off the factory seal
Doesn’t matter if there new or old. Run the felpro gasket on its own
I Think ill be a good Guinea pig for this product...
If you read this carefully it implies this is the solution to “REPAIR your old tensioners when OEM states to replace if bead is compromise” they state this is the solution for REPAIRING
Also states no need for any RTV
Im going to throw it on dry my self and leave it at that no bead no RTV
You think just smearing some RTV to fill up the channel would suffice?
Because me personally I’m planning on removing the silicone all together my self. The silicone tears and breaks open in my case and that’s proven
Well if it looks and sound like a duck right.
Yeah the pump I got is only hi flow. Not high pressure so think it just moves more GPM at or around the factory pressure. I don’t have a gauge for pressure yet on the car so can’t verify for sure. But you would think running at higher RPM its self...
Oh ok I had no idea you could even aftermarket gaskets for those things I’d definitely give those a try then are these the ones you talking about here?
The seal was the one that comes glued to the factory plastic chain tensioners so OEM, they came with the ford racing timing kit I threw in the car
Drivers bank blew out side that get oil first
Oil pump - Melling M360HV hi flow
I’m also running a little thicker oil 5w30
And spin the motor...
