2011, Which rear lower control arms?

I originally ran poly/poly LCA's on my car which is used for track days. I switched to poly/rod after it was suggested as being the best combination for a car which is tracked because poly/poly bind up when the car rolls and adds to roll stiffness. The best would be rod/rod but on a car...

    Tie Rod Ends

How much do the Progress lowering springs drop the front and rear? The normal "rule of thumb" seems to be you are OK if it only around a 1" drop at the front.

Which car for auto crossing/track days?

The instructors that I went to VIR with teach there are 6 ways to steer a car; 1) steering wheel 2) throttle on 3) throttle off 4) brake on 5) brake off 6) choosing the wrong gear :naughty1: The better the power/torque to weight ratio the more important 2) and 3) become and the more you need...

    what would you do?

I was just at my local Ford dealer picking up some oil filters and asked what the price was for the new 2013 hood extractor vents. The answer was $350 for each side! Guess their not in my plans anymore.

18x10 wheel for track use, vorshlag?

Correct - and that is one reason I run them as track wheels. The other reasons are that they are strong and well priced.

    My Steeda 18 x 9.5 were about 28 pounds.

    Oil temperature

The coolant temp gauge is a glorified idiot light. It sits at the middle unless things get really hot then starts moving to the right. I brought it back under control on my last track day by putting the heater on high and full fan. Thank goodness for my Cool Shirt.

    Cantilever on s197?

The rear axle weighs a lot and it stays as sprung weight. Considering the relatively small amount of weight that would become unsprung and the complexity involved in designing and building the mounts so that they would not tear out of the body it hardly seems worth it.

    racing gear/equipment

I installed my Cool Shirt reservoir behind the passenger seat using the two rear seat mounting bolts. The support is made from slotted angle iron from a hardware store and it fits under the seat frame. The reservoir pump then runs off the auxiliary power output in the rear console.

    Suspension advice please

Taking the weight off the front wheel helps make it easier to move.
