there is a new cobra jet drag spring kit available
2013 COBRA JET SPRING KIT M-5300-RA*
they claim they have improved Rear spring rate for drag racing and improved stance.. they are basing the improvment off of the M-5300-Q 2008 Cobra Jet drag springs which I currently run.
Does anyone run these springs or have any detail on the new spring kit?

Those are not a replacement for the "Q" springs. They are meant to replace the "R" springs which are the lowering version of the Cobra Jet springs. The "R" springs dropped the car 2" in the front and 2.5" in the rear. The old spring rates were 200-260 and 700-850, I had them and they were an awful spring, rode like shit. At ride height they sat on the bumpstops in the rear and after shaving them to the last notch they still hit on moderate bumps. They say they have improved the rates and the rear ride height but who knows if it makes any difference. The price is about the same as the previous "R" springs while the "Q" springs run around $80/set since they were off the shelf parts.

makes sence now s197Onspray thanks I really like my "Q" springs with my QA1 dbl adjustble rear shocks, I am considering going to QA1 dbl adjustable front struts / coil overs.
I have added weight of the Iron 5.0 Boss block Iv allready done BmR Kmem and A Arms sway bar delete to lessen some weight but I am sure with the Iron block, Jpc intake & supercharger and other extras that wasnt enough to fully off set the added weight so thinking of going coil over in front to get better tuned and better transfer at launch so I am researching this option for front now since i am still stock struts in front, but I still am not sure how benifitial the front coilovers are on the s197 platform for drag setup humm hopefully my research will help me know if it is a true improvment on the strip.
I will be having Kurgan install my 6 point this comming week then i am going to get the car on scales and go from there..

I would like to see the rates on these.

They are probably pretty close to what our springs are.

The fronts will probably be pretty inconsistent (as a market wide universal drag spring) if they are too "soft".....due to the drastic weight difference of a S/C 5.4 compared to an N/A 5.0. Cutting the fronts with lighter combos may be necessary.
